Mindware rebrands logo, announces new partnership

Mindware is using GITEX 2014 as a platform to announce its rebranding, new vendor partnerships and the launch of the company’s mobile app to its partners and customers in the region.

since it began operations over two decades ago, the distributor has been coming back each year with a bigger stand, which indicates its growth story.

With a brand new and fresh logo, the company’s GM, Mario Gay says, “After 23 years of doing business in the region, I believe it was time to change to stay with the colours of the times and create a symbol that showcases the company with modern reality. In the rebranding, we have introduced a new logo and new colours for our brand while simultaneously staying true to our roots.”

Mindware held an exclusive cocktail event at Armani Hotel, Dubai, last

evening to announce its rebranding and to welcome its latest vendor partner, Riverbed Technology to its vendor portfolio. The distribution partnership caters to all the markets within the region.

“Mindware brings a large impressive portfolio to the table and which is quite segmented, making it easier to approach each segment separately.

We are also bringing our partner base and technical competencies to the table and we are in the process of finalising a dedicated team to help in the growth of Riverbed’s business.

Apart from the Riverbed partnership, the distributor has also announced the sign-up with Atlantis Computing, a provider of softwaredefined storage this week.

At GITEX 2014, the distributor has also announced the launch of the ‘Mindware App’ for Android and iOS platforms and plans to launch one for Windows soon. “It is a friendly app which has been created to help partners be updated on the latest in terms of trainings, events through geolocation features and to apply for jobs. It is also meant for anyone who wants to know information from the company,” says Mario.

AMD’s successful presence at GITEX is culminating in a LAN gaming tournament between the region’s best gamers on Thursday, 16th October between 2-5pm. AMD has hosted its Eyefinity Tournament daily during GITEX, leading to the ultimate gaming tournament on the last day of the show. The AMD Counter Strike Go LAN tournament will be conducted on AMD’s Eyefinity set up, five 46 inch monitors, at their stand on CC2-6 on Concourse 2.

The format of the tournament is 3 v/s 3, and registrations are accepted at the stand.

In terms of the company’s flash offerings, Kanafani believes a flexible

approach is needed to satisfy customers. “I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all philosophy,” he says.

“We can provide a hybrid model of disk and flash arrays which allows for a less rigid business approach.”

Kanafani says that GITEX is symbolic of the company’s regional expansion. Last month, NetApp opened an office in Doha, in addition to its existing Saudi Arabia branch. “NetApp Middle East has

grown 40 percent in the last nine months,” he says. “We’re looking to build a base in Oman, but not before we’ve properly established ourselves in every country where we have a presence.”
