Etisalat signs strategic pact with RAK Free Zone

Etisalat has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone Authority (RAK FTZ) to enhance operational efficiencies through implementation of advanced

telecommunications and ICT services.

The agreement was signed by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Humaid Al Qasimi, Managing Director of RAK FTZ and Abdul Aziz Taryam, CEO Advisor and General Manager

- Northern Emirates, Etisalat at the telco’s stands on the sidelines of GITEX Technology Week 2014.

Abdul Aziz Taryam commented, “The agreement signifies Etisalat’s commitment to update and implement modern telecommunications and ICT services and solutions for the UAE’s government sector. Dubai Chamber promotes Alibaba partnership

Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry highlighted its exclusive partnership with Alibaba Group for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region that offers its members elite benefits to help them increase export opportunities and facilitate trade through e-Commerce at Gitex.

The Dubai Chamber booth featured information about the exclusive partnership with the global e-business conglomerate that is helping to lead e-Commerce growth in the UAE and across the region.

G DATA discovers a security flaw G DATA discovered a critical security flaw in the famous malware analysis framework “Cuckoo Sandbox“ this week. The open source program is a worldwide common tool that is used by many anti-virus researchers to analyse malware. The vulnerability is classified by Ralf Benzmueller, head of G DATA Security Labs, as extremely critical, since this could allow computer malware to break out of the safe analysis environment.

“Cuckoo Sandbox is used by many AV researchers around the world. The bug discovered by our team may result in malware breaking out of the protected analysis environment. Worst case scenario: an infection of the host computer itself would be possible”, said Ralf Benzmueller, head of G DATA Security Labs. “We contacted the developer immediately and advise research institutions to

immediately install the program update that is provided by Cuckoo Sandbox since Wednesday.”

Cuckoo sandbox is free to use and open source software.

Therefore it is used by many security companies, law enforcement as well as academic and independent researchers to analyze malware. Due to its free nature, it is probably more widespread in smaller organizations and independent researchers, said G DATA in a blog post.
