Among the highlights of Vocalcom’s participation at this year’s event include its Cloud Contact Centre solution, which according to the company is an all-in-one software product that is highly secure, scalable and easy-to-use. Nassar further explains that the event is also very instrumental for them in terms of further enhancing their relationships with their

customers and partners, as well as in attaining new prospects for business growth.

Nofal says that the Middle East region is unique in the sense that it is not hesitant to experiment with new technologies and concepts.

Over the last few months, the systems integrator has been busy building the foundation of the smart wireless infrastructure for the country.

“But what is also important is to enable services on top of that. Today the key aspect in

the region is to find the right talent. We have to transform ourselves and evolve the skillset we have and acquire new talent.”

However, this is not always easy in the region as it is mostly population, which comes and goes. Therefore, it is difficult to keep long-term commitments from individuals.

“These new wave technologies will require different tactics. We are going to continue to invest in the region and have multiple programmes in place. We are looking to acquire resources from outside and potentially thinking about new innovative ways and global partnerships, which will further allow us to attract new talent,” he adds.

What kind of IT trends do you expect to have an impact on the regional ICT industry over

the next 12-18 months?

The regional IT sector in the Middle East and North Africa is emerging as one of the most dynamic, thriving IT environments on the globe.

The IT industry in this region is growing as industries such as financial services, telecoms, real estate, hospitality and process industries strive to improve their capabilities and introduce innovative solutions to a growing market.

The market also has invested heavily in hardware, infrastructure and packaged software in previous years, and while investment in these segments will continue at around 12-15 percent percent growth, attention is increasingly turning to the provision of services.

The biggest concern in the Middle East is physical and infrastructure security. Hence, IT security and surveillance is a key factor for most organisations to invest. The IP surveillance market is witnessing buoyant growth today, and more importantly, the demand for CCTV and surveillance products and solutions is going to be sustained with consistent and high growth rates over the next 5-6 years. Avenir Telecom to distribute Energizer Case French firm Avenir Telecom has signed a licence agreement for the development and exclusive distribution of the Energizer Hard Case brand.

The agreement includes plans to market this new line of high-tech rugged telephones throughout the world, with the exception of North America.
