Cisco to emphasise ‘threat-centric security’

Scott Manson, Cisco

Cisco’s cybersecurity division is showcasing its ‘threat–centric security’, including threat detection, defence and secure remote access at GITEX. “Ever-expanding connectivity, digitization and the Internet of

Things (IoT) is transforming our world, creating new business models through greater speed, efficiency, and agility,” Scott Manson, Cyber Security Leader for Middle East and Turkey, Cisco, said. “Security is foundational to seizing these emerging opportunities. Security must be everywhere – embedded into the heart of the intelligent network infrastructure from the service provider, throughout the extended enterprise network, and across supply chains. Security needs to be as pervasive as the IoT itself. This requires a new architectural approach and active engagement at the highest levels within organisations.”

Cisco’s security portfolio includes solutions for access control and policy, advanced malware protection, email security, firewalls, network security, next generation intrusion prevention system, security management, VPN and endpoint security clients and Web security. “From the network to the endpoint to the cloud, Cisco’s architectural approach detects more threats and helps customers on average reduce their time to detection to less than 13 hours — much faster than the industry standard of 100 days,” Manson added. He went on to describe

how the DWTC trade show is a staple in the company’s agenda. “GITEX is one of the most important events in Cisco’s calendar,” he added. “It is a platform for us to meet, interact and network with our regional customers and partners and share our innovations and latest success stories with them. It is a perfect platform to raise our profile, increase awareness of our products and solutions and communicate our digitisation message to a focused audience.” Cisco will be in the Security and Network Hall, Hall 1 Stand B1-1.
