Logicom presents Cloud Marketplace and new partnerships
Peter Irinarchos, Logicom
Regional distributor, Logicom, is launching its Cloud Marketplace and highlighting its new partnerships with Aruba, Microsoft and IBM at GITEX Technology Week 2016. Peter Irinarchos, General Manager, UAE and Gulf, Logicom, says, “GITEX provides a fantastic opportunity to connect with our reseller partners, meet and recruit new ones, raise awareness to recent additions to our product portfolio and cement our position
as a leading regional distributor of technology solutions and services. It is also an ideal platform for high level meetings with our new and existing vendors, a review of the current business outlook and a discussion around opportunities for the new year.” The distributor has on boarded a number of new vendors to the Logicom Cloud Marketplace. Irinarchos says, “We are bringing a wide range of local and global cloud-based software services to customers in Southern Europe and the Middle East. We will be rolling out cloud programmes and services with many new cloud partners this year, including Microsoft and IBM.” Earlier this year, Logicom has also boosted its vendor
portfolio, with an expansion of its distribution relationship with Microsoft to include the UAE and Gulf Countries. It has also added Aruba, a Hewlett Packard Enterprise company, and has extended its contracts with HP Inc and APC. “At GITEX, we are very excited to also announce our partnership with Teamviewer, a leading software solution in remote support and online meetings, a company with a lot of value to add to IoT environments as well,” he adds. Partners have a number of things to look forward to from the distributor in the next few months. “Partners are seeing the benefits from all the resources we have been adding this year,
for example in Qatar and Kuwait, but also in the form of technical resources here in Dubai to assist our partners. And on that same VAD theme, we are planning to convert part of our Sales Office in Karama, Dubai into a demo and training facility to be ready early next year, we hope this is something that could add great value to our partners.” The company has revamped its old concept of LTF (Logicom Technology Forum) into a ‘mini GITEX’ with hundreds of partners attending. He says, “We are also investing in our call center, strengthening the teams’ capabilities to become more extrovert and proactive in creating leads for our valued partners.”
Wassa showcases facial recognition software
At GITEX, Wassa is presenting morphological detection and recognition software such as
Deeplytics for face identification or Visioblur for professional video conferences. Deeplytics is a software component able to identify a user on a digital platform through a camera. After creating a profile, the solution is able to compare a user with new detections in order to identify people that are already registered. This solution answers a number of use cases related to customer knowledge, performance
optimisation and brand image. It can be embedded in every major platform and device, desktop and mobile operating system. Deeplytics adapts automatically to its environment and to the available camera. It can work online and offline. Visioblur has been designed for professional video conferences and can be embedded in every company’s video conference tools. Visioblur blurs in real time the private environment
of a user especially as part of telecommuting situation. The solution detects faces and follows their movement. Face remains clear all along the conversation. Visioblur solution currently works on computer with Windows OS and OSX. Elsa Bonnet, Business Manager, Wassa, said: “Wassa is currently willing to set up a sales channel in the Middle East and is seeking for partners to distribute and/or integrate Wassa’s solutions,”
