He says the Middle East is far ahead of developed markets when it comes to the migration from magstripes to EMV chip technology. “This migration is now happening in Africa and that gives us a lot of opportunities. And when it comes to national IDs, you need several layers of security including contact and contactless features. We have products to address these technological needs.” On the display at HID Global booth at Gitex is the company latest DTC5500LMX all-inone printing and lamination solution that delivers highvolume production at low coast. The DTC5500LMX utilizes HID’s wasteless lamination technology, elimination the needs for the standard carrier film and take-up core included in most lamination consumables on the market today. HID Global has recently acquired DemoTeller, which provides instant issuance solutions for the financial market. With this acquisition, HID Global says it will now be able to address the needs of financial institutions and retailers for instant issuance of personalized financial or payment cards, such as a chip card.

Microsoft stages regional debut of AIcapable Dynamics 365

Microsoft has continued its GITEX Technology Week 2016 theme of “An Empowered Future”, with the introduction of its hyperintelligent Dynamics 365, the cloud-based customer-relationship management solution that gives organisations of all sizes access to the most advanced AI tools ever seen in a business application. The Dynamics 365 cloud service brings together a number of purpose-built apps, each designed to address a specific business need, such as sales automation, operations or customer service. In the best tradition of cloud computing, customers pay only for what they use, but the functionality of Dynamics 365 can expand as StarLink_Strip Ads_AW.pdf

soon as the business requires it. “Microsoft understands that organisations come in many types and sizes, so with Dynamics 365, you start with what you need and you pay for what you need,” said Karim Talhouk, Microsoft Business Solutions Lead, Microsoft Gulf. “The Dynamics 365 cloud service mirrors your scale, growing with your business, so your agility is not hampered by software procurement cycles. Meanwhile, your organisation gets to benefit from an extensive range of analytical and predictive tools – already seen in products such as Office 365, Bing Predicts and Skype Translator – that can bring unprecedented real-world value to every stripe and flavour of business.” 3

10/12/16

GITEX 2016 visitors were able to get hands on with Dynamics 365’s built-in intelligence capabilities, which include sentiment and intent analysis; pre-emptive service provision; demand forecasting, lead and opportunity scoring; product recommendations; and up-sell and cross-sell functionality. Microsoft is confident that delegates will discover capabilities in Dynamics 365 that they thought scarcely possible in mainstream business applications. Dynamics 365 customers can extend the core application’s intelligence capabilities, through independent apps that provide targeted and domain-specific intelligence. For example, Dynamics 365 for Customer Insights, an analytics app launched last week along with the main cloud service, brings together Microsoft data and that of other CRM, ERP, Web, social and IoT sources, and applies AI modules to it, to provide a 360-degree customer view with automatic suggestions on how to improve engagement. “leveraging Dynamics 365, a restaurant chain, for example, could use Wi-Fi registration data, point-of-sale transactions, table bookings, survey results and social media to anticipate how

many more meals per outlet per day the business might expect to sell, leading to a granularity of predictive analysis way beyond the capabilities of traditional CRM systems,” said Talhouk Dynamics 365 takes full advantage of the capabilities built into other Microsoft apps, such as Power BI, Office 365, Microsoft Azure and Cortana Intelligence. It uses a newly developed, Common Data Model that allows its customers to extend functionality and build their own custom apps using PowerApps, Microsoft Flow or Microsoft’s professional developer solutions. Since Microsoft’s ISV partners use the same Common Data Model in their solutions, customers can pursue the ideal solution for their individual industry needs, by extension of Dynamics 365, or by browsing the many functionspecific apps found in AppSource. “We’ve added 100 new apps to AppSource over the past three months and made it easier for customers to find and evaluate those apps without ever leaving Dynamics 365,” added Talhouk. “As we announced at the Dynamics 365 launch last week, we shall also be adding Solution Integrator partners to AppSource so customers can more easily get the help they need with implementation and deployment.
