Acunetix educates GITEX visitors on web app vulnerability services

Acunetix, a company specialising in web application vulnerability scanning, is exhibiting alongside Bulwark at this years GITEX Technology Week, following the recent distribution agreement between the two firms.

Damian Fearnley, Regional Sales Manager, EMEA, Acunetix, outlined the company’s main focuses at the exhibition this year.

“One of our goals is to educate the market and get ourselves on the radar for anyone with a website,” he said. “We want to utilise this event to explain how we can simplify security testing for both SMBs and enterprises, and get the message out there that anyone with a website can use our services.”

Fujairah e-Government modernises emirate’s ICT infrastructure

Fujairah e-Government, which supports all the government entities in the Emirate, is exhibiting and holding multiple seminars to educate GITEX visitors about the recent public sector undertakings on emerging technologies and how they can benefit from them.

“In terms of e-services offered, we have left that to the individual department to develop and offer these in their own portals. Our main role is to oversee the IT improvements and enhancements in all the government departments.

Our mandate is to modernise

existing ICT infrastructure across all departments in the Government of Fujairah,” says His Excellency Mohammad Bin Hamad Bin Saif Al Sharqi (Director, Fujairah EGovernment Department).

He adds as part of Fujairah e-Government’s strategy for next year would be, focus on re-engineering some of the current business processes to be more effective, and to constantly upgrade the Government’s information communications technology infrastructure. “We will also upgrade or replace current information systems and focus on upgrading the skillsets of our staff in all our departments.”

Fujairah e-Government has

engaged the Dubai-based systems integrator Think SS to implement its core network infrastructure overhaul. “Think SS is completely in charge of all phases of the project – right from planning, designing, installing and managing. We have worked with them in some of our previous IT infrastructure projects and have always found them quite competent and professional.”

He says the Fujairah e-Government will continue to play a consultancy role to government entities when it comes to ICT policies and implementation. “We will always be involved in the provision of more and more e-services for the public and businesses. We will play a very important part in the development of mobile apps for these e-services.”
