Al Khaimah. Swaidan Trading supplies Ashok Leyland’s highly popular range of Falcon and Oyster worker, school and staff transportation, as well as their specially designed Oryx 4x4 buses.

The Ashok Leyland Oryx buses cater to a niche demand for rugged, reliable and off-road capable transportation that can reach remote and inaccessible areas on unpaved surfaces, such as desert rigs and work sites, and currently command more than a 60% market share.

Today, hundreds of thousands of workers and students travel on Ashok Leyland buses every single day in the UAE. Swaidan Trading also recently added Ashok Leyland’s Partner pickup truck, a highly practical and capable light commercial vehicle, to its range.

Al Naboodah expanded its light commercial vehicles offering in 2014 with the addition of the SAIC Motor Corporation’s Maxus brand to its portfolio, including the versatile V80, which is the only vehicle that can be registered with both 15 and 18 seats in the UAE, as well as being DOT and RTA approved for school transportation.

Based on the superior European light-vehicle technology platform and innate technical expertise, Maxus has successfully developed a range of highquality products encompassing V80 and G10 vans and T60 pickups, covering the full spectrum of light commercial vehicles. In 2017, Swaidan Trading further diversified its business by entering the truck industry through its partnership with leading European truck manufacturer, DAF.

DAF Trucks are well known for their quality, reliability and fuel efficiency. In 2018, DAF celebrated its 90th anniversary in a year in which it also registered record numbers in terms of production and sales. The feat was repeated in 2019 during a period when DAF also successfully rolled out its new electric truck range in Europe, delivering to early-adopting clients.

These have already covered 150,000 fully electric kilometres in just one year with immaculate results and feedback from the customers.

The industry trend is towards greener vehicles, and DAF can offer trucks with both Euro 5 and Euro 6 emissions standards. DAF trucks also consume less fuel, thereby helping to reduce their carbon footprint.
