Scania Middle East

Scania has a long history in the region, having been in the Gulf since 1975 through its renowned local partners in Oman. With promising growth, Scania Middle East was established in Dubai’s Jebel Ali Free Zone in 2008; initially as a delivery center for the region to make pre-delivery inspections and operate warehousing within its 20,000sqm state-of-the-art industrial facility.

By 2014, the operation expanded to become a Scania fully-owned business unit; providing comprehensive support including sales and marketing for its trucks, buses and engines, as well as training and after-sales support. Its well-regarded financial service, Scania Credit started operations in 2016 for the benefit of its growing markets and has already gathered valuable deals within UAE, Oman and Qatar. Scania Middle East currently employs 24 personnel of various nationalities within its headquarters in Dubai (JAFZA). It has a dynamic organization in an international environment, providing comprehensive support to its partners and customers in the region.

Precisely suited for fleets

Scania offers robust vehicles precisely suited to its customers’ needs ably supported by its top-class service. Tractors, tippers and mixers from its construction trucks range are its highest selling models across the region. Fuel distribution, waste management and general cargo transport are also very important segments where Scania offers tailor made solutions and provides customers with an outstanding total operating economy. Scania provides transport solutions with great reliability and operating economy. Our customer oriented sales and service organization is highly skilled and motivated to understand and exceed customer expectations.

Scania offers products that are specified based on the requirements of our customer in the region. With Scania’s modular system we offer great possibilities for the customer to get the right specification for his operation. Scania can offer everything from 2-5 axle vehicles, small-large cabs (L, P, G, R and S cabs), crew cabs and engines ranging from 9-16L. Our engines are suited for all different applications – Power generation, Industrial and Marine.

Scania buses and coaches are well developed to provide a luxury transport service that fulfils our operators but also end users demand. Total operating economy is one of our main aspects, so our buses and coaches are designed and manufactured to be very fuel efficient but also the load carrying capacity has been improved to allow more passengers onboard. In line with our sustainability approach we are also offering CNG buses & coaches in our region.

With Scania Contracted Services, we aim to avoid time-consuming and costly problems from occurring to maximize uptime and Total Operating Economy for our customers.

With Extr@, customers benefit from up to five years maintenances contract and up to five years Powertrain Protection. They also access up to five years of FMS Monitoring.

Customers can also benefit from up to five years Maintenance Contract, up to five years Powertrain Protection with the Ultr@ programme while receiving up to five years wear and tear repairs and up to five years of Connected & Driver Services.

Alternatively, Maxim@ lets customers benefit from Full Repair and Maintenance for up to five years and up to five years of Connected & Driver Services.

Scania Fleet Management Service provides a set of services that connects vehicles and drivers with their companies’ offices and helps customers take control of their fleets in order to get the most out of their businesses.

Scania Financing offers flexible financing to suit fleet business plans and budgets.

Scania has some very interesting projects related to CNG fueled vehicles in the region. By using CNG vehicles, Scania achieves Euro 6 emission regulations while reducing the Total Operating Cost. 2020 started with the delivery of 29 Euro 6 coaches to one of our prestigious customers in Abu Dhabi and the delivery of 30 R460 A6x6 Tractor Units to Saudi. It was also the year when we accelerated our efforts to provide more comprehensive service solutions to our customers by bundling vehicles with service contracts and customized financial solutions. Despite the pandemic we managed to deliver more or less the same number of vehicles in 2020 as in 2019.

Scania globally has set Science based carbon reduction targets (SBT) that commits to reduce emissions at the scale and pace science dictates necessary to limit global warming. The commitment represents a radical leap in our carbon reductions aims, as the target encompass not only emissions from our direct global operations, but also from our customers’ vehicles in use. As of 2020, Scania Middle East has welcomed three new partners – GTE Olayan in Kuwait, Saad & Co. in Syria and Scantrucks in Lebanon and our aim for 2021 is to fully integrate the markets under Scania Middle East responsibility. Our aim is also to grow in volume, enter new segments and extend our product and service offering.
