EcoLeaf – The New Technology for Finishing Options ACTEGA Metal Print was founded in February 2017 with a mission to revolutionize the graphic industry with a sustainable metallization-technology for reducing the material, waste, cost, and time exposure. In order to achieve this goal, ACTEGA Metal Print bought the Nano-Metallgraphy – now known as EcoLeaf.
Launch of the New EcoLeafTechnology Since the concept was successfully proven at drupa 2016, the EcoLeaftechnology was submitting an industrialization-process. therefore the technology as well as the knockledge has got placed to Germany and the infrastructure to a successfully market launch was arranged. The first beta tests were installed from February 2020 to April 2020 and the first commercial systems are planned to be installed in January 2021.
ACTEGA Metal Print was founded in February 2017 with a mission to revolutionize the graphic industry with a sustainable metallization-technology for reducing the material, waste, cost, and time exposure. In order to achieve this goal, ACTEGA Metal Print bought the Nano-Metallgraphy that was first presented at drupa 2016 by Benny Landa, founder of the LandaGroup. Jan Franz Allerkamp, CEO of ACTEGA Metal Print, talked about the usage and its advantages of the new technology for finishing options. A Sustainable Alternative to Traditional Metallization The EcoLeaf-technology is a sustainable alternative to the conventional film lamination or hot-
foil embossing for labels and folding boxes with decorative metal-effects. EcoLeaf will be used for analogousand digital printing machines as well for processing frameworks. By creating a trigger-photo with different printingproceeds, different metallic-effects can be produced. The EcoLeaf-throughput is currently at a performance from 70m/min, which is planned to increase the throughput. EcoLeaf will support all kinds of metallic-colors. The first color, which will be commercially available is a silver pigment, whereby other colors are already in the development phase. EcoLeaf has got no printing restriction and can support each kind of printing machines and procedure. Also the EcoLeaf-metallization-units will be providing all print ranges, including labels, folding boxes, flexible packages, job printing as well as publishing.
EcoLeaf enables significant improvements referring to sustainability, because using this new application-method, foilwaste will be reduced and packages without plastic foils are easier to recycle. “EcoLeaf will affect positive on sustainability and conservation of resources.” – Jan Franz Allerkamp, CEO of ACTEGA Metal Print. Jan Franz Allerkamp, CEO of ACTEGA Metal Print declares that at the start of EcoLeaf, a blend of direct sales and sales via sales partner is intended. For optimizing the technology and ensuring the performance in commercial environments, EcoLeaf has to await the results of all beta tests. In addition to that, EcoLeaf will develop new applications and strengthen their company organization.
