Cover the bottom 6.5cm of a landscape blank with bird paper. Stamp a row of scallops across the top. Cut out and stick three birds above it. Make a sentiment banner and glue to the front, then wrap and tie off yellow twine below the scallops.
Leafy Thanks
Stamp green leaves onto white card, 8cm x 13.5cm. Line and stick green, 10cm x 14.5cm, to the top of an A6 blank. Matt the panel on top. Stamp and die-cut a sentiment frame and attach to the front. Wrap green ribbon along the top.

Blooming Lovely
Cover the top 12cm of a blank, 13cm x 15cm, with sunburst paper. Trim scallop print two rows deep and stick below. Cut and crunch up three different sized circles, then flatten and layer to create a flower. Stick to the lower left with two leaves. Add a button tied with turquoise twine..

I hadn’t bought your magazine before as I usually buy ones dedicated to sewing and upcycling. However, a lady I work with kindly gave me some old magazines she no longer wanted. One of them was Crafts Beautiful’s July 2016 issue. I was flicking through (and very much enjoying it I have to say) when I came across your pink piano stool project and got a bit of a shock – it was astonishing how much it looked like the one I had upcycled ! Last spring I came across an ugly old piano stool, gave it a bit of TLC, and it was finished. How very odd that there was such a similar project in your magazine around the same time – great minds think alike, maybe?

1 blank, 10.5cm x 14.5cm. Create a top-folding
From the CD-ROM print out
green gingham, cream floral and white vine papers. Trim gingham to 10cm x 14cm. Matt vine paper, 6.5cm x 13cm, to white card. Mount cream floral paper, 8.5cm x 9cm, onto white. Layer both panels to the gingham section. Fix pink ribbon across the bottomright corner, then attach the background to the card front. Print out a girl with flowers topper and mount onto

b 150g caster sugar b 150g light brown sugar b 3 eggs b 300ml sunflower oil b 300g self-raising flour b ½ teaspoon salt b 1 teaspoon vanilla sugar b 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon b 1 teaspoon mixed spice b 300g grated carrots b 70g pine nuts
For the topping b 300g cream cheese b 100g icing sugar, sifted b 50g softened butter b 2 x 20-cm round cake pans, greased and lined with baking parchment Serves 8
1 (325°F) Gas 3. Whisk
Preheat oven to 160°C
caster and light brown sugars together with eggs until light and airy, gradually adding oil. In a separate bowl, sift the dry ingredients together, then fold into the sugar and egg mixture. Fold in grated carrots, reserving some for decorating the finished cake, then the pine nuts. Pour the mixture into prepared cake pans, then bake for 25 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the middle comes out clean. Turn out of the pans and leave to cool completely on a wire

rack. To make the topping, beat all the ingredients together well. Arrange one cake on a serving plate and spread over almost half of the

topping evenly. Place the second cake bottom-up on top, then spread the rest of the topping over the cake. Decorate and serve. CB
