SIXTH FORM NEWS

On Monday morning, during whole school assembly, the 2023/24 Head Girl applicants presented their speeches, followed by the whole school vote! Well done to all the girls who applied for the roles!

The Year 13 A-level Art students joined the Year 11 GCSE artists on Tuesday, to travel to the Horniman Museum. Everyone had a wonderful time, collecting first hand observational sources to add to their sketchbooks. The Horniman had a big world gallery, that included artefacts from different cultures. There was also a room that held a few skeletons, fossils and animals from all around the world on display. My favourite area was the music room, which held over 1,300 instruments, including a wall of flutes, in addition to more unusual instruments, such as a lute. Much enjoyment was to be had throughout the day!

As it is Youth Mental Health Week this week, during form time on Wednesday we made bracelets, and each received a chocolate heart! Well done to Klara (Senior Pastoral Prefect) for organising this activity alongside the Mental Health Ambassadors, Julia and Aleisha. In addition to this, before lessons on Thursday, the ambassadors delivered an assembly about Youth Mental Health Week and also organised a fun activity in the Reading Room where we anonymously wrote a kind message to someone in the Sixth Form that was delivered to each student as a surprise on Friday.

On Friday morning we had a whole school assembly where Dr McShane announced the new 2023/2024 Student Leadership Team. Well done to everyone on earning their positions!

Olivia, Pippa and I are now handing over to the next Head Girl Team and we wish them the best in their new roles! I have really enjoyed updating everyone on the Sixth Form life each week and I hope that you have enjoyed having an insight into Sixth Form fun.

One of the members from the new Head Girl Team will take over the Sixth Form section of the bulletin from me every week to make sure that you are all updated with the Sixth Form News.

I hope you all have a wonderful half term holiday and thank you for reading the Sixth Form section of the bulletin for the last year, I have really enjoyed sharing all of our news.
