ROTARY
Debating Society
Two wonderful teams from Year 8 took part in the Rotary Club Public Speaking Competition held in Mairlot Hall last week. Pascale W, Eleanor G and Gabriella G spoke about the importance of extra-curricular activities. Amelia B, Georgina W and Sophie M debated the importance of British Sign Language. Congratulations to the winning team of Amelia B, Georgina W and Sophie M who fought off stiff competition from Manor House and Cranmore. They now go forward to the area semi-final.
ECO REQUEST!!!!!
The green fingered students have started introducing indoor plants into the Form Rooms across the school in an Eco boosting initiative. In the spirit of the Eco Club the plants have either been re-homed or have been propagated, but we are still a few short so if you happen to have any that you would like to donate we would appreciate it.
In the same spirit of re-using we are also looking for any saucers or medium sized plant pots
Thank you from the Eco Council
One Ocean
We have extra spaces available to attend the One Ocean workshops, you do not need to be an eco team member. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
If you have an interest in marine biology, conservation and microplastics this may be worthwhile; you can also add this to your UCAS application.
There will be a trip in the Summer Term to Brighton, so if you sign up and attend the talks you will automatically receive an invite.
There will be a further three workshops after half term on the 23rd of February and the 2nd and 9th of March at 13:30 in Room 35.
