Social Season Calendar

We are living in a time where ideas, trends and technology are changing faster than ever causing some of us to feel overwhelmed or left behind. Instead of accelerating to keep the pace, sometimes the antidote might be to slow down and unplug! The Club exists to be that “oasis” that Robert Trent Jones had envisioned more than a half century ago; providing a way for you to balance time away from work with family and friends. Counteract hours of meetings and screen time with sports and activities that engage your mind and body. Enjoy the vast landscape while lounging on the Terrace in the fading sunset (with, dare I say it, your phone off !). For families with children who want to find ways to engage them, yet spend time together, the Club provides countless social events this season that include the entire family including a new Princesses & Pirates character brunch and time-honored favorites such as Winter Wonderland. Now that school is in full-swing, kids can take advantage of our year-round golf and tennis

programs that could also provide you with some fun socialization on the sidelines. Parents can dine at the Club on Wednesdays when kids eat for free, or attend a Friday night (featuring new menus!) where special activities are planned just for kids and you don’t have to worry about getting a sitter to enjoy a night out. Whether you are seeking activities to add balance to your life or needing to unplug from your overly-scheduled routine, we all know putting it on a calendar is a great place to start. Schedule that “free time” in order to recharge or log in to our Club Calendar, find that outing and make a reservation: relax or engage and let us serve you either way! S AV E

Overseeding The lush ‘green’ turf of last season will be re-introduced this winter with overseeding on Monday-Tuesday, October 30 and 31 (at which time the course & range will be closed). Rye grass will be used for the rough. The process of overseeding involves extensive watering to ensure the seed stays moist and germination begins. Germination (aka the sprouting) of a rye grass seed takes between 10 to 14 days and the golf course will resume its fast playing surfaces and lower heights by November 14. The maintenance staff appreciates your patience during this overseeding.

Patriot Golf Days Fundraiser A special thanks to all who participated in the Patriot Golf Days Fundraiser in September by donating at least $1 or more in support of the Folds of Honor Foundation which provides educational scholarships to families of those who have become disabled or lost their lives serving our great country.

Care of Course Reminders • Golf carts should remain in the fairways throughout play of a hole. • Please use coquina paths to enter and exit the fairways. • Please return to the cart paths at or before the cart directional signs. • Fill divots with sand. • Repair all ball marks on the green. • Rake bunkers back to their original condition. • Remove sand from your shoes prior to walking on the green. ➤

Members that are able to establish great PACE OF PLAY will become the most popular players on the course! PACE OF PLAY simply means playing in a reasonable time frame and keeping up with the group that started play just ahead of your group. Important tips include: 1. Be at your starting tee on-time and ready to play, which includes: • Locate playing partners and report to Starter 5 minutes before scheduled time. • Water and ice in cup, if desired. • Supply of golf balls, tees, ball markers, outer wear, etc. • Hit when ready on the tee. • Throughout the play of the hole, be ready to hit when it is your turn or when you are a safe distance from other players, hit when ready. 2. Sharing a golf cart • Always ride two to a cart whenever possible or when instructed by staff. • Drop off passenger at their ball and move on to yours. Remember...safety first! • Take more than one club to your ball…you may change your mind on what club to use. • When in the area of a bunker during an approach shot, take your putter just in case. 3. Be aware • Be aware of the location of the group ahead. If you cannot see them, pick-up the pace. • Be aware of the location of the group behind. If they are near you and waiting, you may need to pick up the pace, if space ahead is available. 4 Recognize the purpose and follow the directions of the Starter/Ranger.

US Mid-Amateurs Connect at CRCC Last year CRCC had the privilege of being a sectional qualifying site for one of the country’s oldest championships, the Men’s U.S. Amateur Championship. The United States Golf Association (USGA) and Florida State Golf Association (FSGA) were so impressed with the Club and membership support of the U.S. Amateur Qualifier that they awarded CRCC the 2017 Mid-Amateur Section Qualifier which took place in September. CRCC Members Jeff Walker, Mike Sullivan, Dwight Rogers and former Members Scott Campbell, and Scott Kennedy were among the 84 top male players who competed for four qualifying spots and two alternate positions.

C LU B EV E N T R E S E RVAT I O N P O L I C Y Special club events, wine dinners, Saturday night seafood buffets and holiday dining are popular events that sell out and require the purchase of special food and beverage products, equipment, entertainment, etc. Last minute un-replaced cancellations (including changes to the party number) are unfair to those Members who are turned away due to full capacity and cause the Club to incur unnecessary expenses if the reservation is not replaced. As a result, the Club must exercise a firm enforcement of the special event and holiday dining policy. • At the time of making your reservation we will charge your account 100% of the event price. • Please let us know if you have other Members dining with you, so we may contact them. • You may cancel 7 days prior to event, without being charged. • If you cancel less than 7 days prior to the event, you will have to pay 100% of the event price. Note: Should there be a wait list and we are able to fill your reservation less than 6 days prior to the event, your account will be credited in full.
