enjoying the slower pace of the Florida summer months. There is a lot to love about fewer cars on the road and the ability to book a dinner reservation without much ado. It is at this time, when the Club is not as busy servicing Members, that our business picks up behind the scenes with regards to program revisions, continuing education and training, and, as we call it, “summer projects” that will enhance your future experiences at the Club. Summer is the end of one season and preparation for the next; it is a time of reflection and S.M.A.R.T. goal setting. We take a look at highlights of the past year and generally question why we do what we do so that we can eliminate practices and programs we no longer need to focus on, improve others and bring in the new. In addition to improvements behind the scenes, there are those that are hard to miss! At Tennis, our facilities have undergone a major renovation: several new Hydrocourts were installed, along with new and upgraded
lighting and beautiful landscaping and pavers. Now that we have additional lighted courts, we look forward to incorporating evening programs that will promote night play. Although the winter drought was not kind to our golf course, we know you enjoyed all of that sunshine and our crew of golf course maintenance staff have done an exceptional job of keeping our turf green and in great shape for play without any help from Mother Nature. Our practice facilities are currently being improved and new landscaping is being installed on the Rees 9. Visit the 3rd hole to see a vision of the future! Moving forward is a balancing act of maintaining traditions that are at the core of the Club, while also adopting progressive changes. As always, it is our goal to provide you with exceptional customer service and memorable experiences; so we thank you for your feedback that helps us move in the right direction. S AV E

raving about the new and improved CRCC Tennis complex! Not only have our teaching courts been converted into Hydro courts and state-of-the-art lighting installed giving us a total of eight lighted courts, we also have new landscaping. Walkways have new brick pavers, beautiful Bermuda grass was installed and new plants have added a colorful and attractive final touch. Thanks to our Golf Course Superintendent, Jay Boring and his crew, our landscaping now compliments our great tennis courts! Over this season, we saw more juniors on the courts than ever before. With a new curriculum, students are improving and getting to the next level faster while still having fun! We expanded our clinic offerings and Coach Teddy added a drop-in "play day" two Sundays per month to encourage juniors to play more matches. In addition to our Women's East Coast Summer League, we are

TO E NSURE PROPER
growth, root structure, and top playing conditions for you and your guests, the maintenance staff is aggressively applying the horticultural practices necessary for maintaining healthy and mature growth year-round. The practices completed during the summer months include: Aerifying Fairways: Aerifying loosens the soil that has become compacted by carts, equipment and foot traffic; opening up growing room for the roots and increasing oxygen to the roots. This helps water infiltration and makes the fairways firmer. Aerifying Greens: Aerifying promotes healthy turf growth. A machine, known as an Aerifier, removes 3 to 5 inch long cores of turf and soil. The removal of cores allows water, air and nutrients from the top-dressing to reach the soil roots, thereby enhancing growth. Top-dressing Greens: • Promotes Tighter, Finer-Textured Turf • Encourages Upright Growth • Thatch Control • Disease Prevention • Better Water & Fertilizer Infiltration • Alleviates Compaction • Protects Against Winter Kill Verticutting Tees & Fairways: Verticutting helps to reduce thatch build-up and allows moisture and oxygen into the root system. Thatch restricts movement of air, water and fertilizers into the soil. LOOKING AHEAD

Lunch is from 11 - 11:30 am and is followed by outdoor play on Monday and golf Tuesday through Thursday, 11:30 am - 12:30 pm. C LU B EV E N T R E S E RVAT I O N P O L I C Y Special club events, wine dinners, Saturday night seafood buffets and holiday dining are popular events that sell out and require the purchase of special food and beverage products, equipment, entertainment, etc. Last minute un-replaced cancellations (including changes to the party number) are unfair to those Members who are turned away due to full capacity and cause the Club to incur unnecessary expenses if the reservation is not replaced. As a result, the Club must exercise a firm enforcement of the special event and holiday dining policy. • At the time of making your reservation we will charge your account 100% of the event price. • Please let us know if you have other Members dining with you, so we may contact them. • You may cancel 7 days prior to event, without being charged. • If you cancel less than 7 days prior to the event, you will have to pay 100% of the event price. Note: Should there be a wait list and we are able to fill your reservation less than 6 days prior to the event, your account will be credited in full.
