close to the beaches of Fort Lauderdale, we are all familiar with the ocean breezes that we enjoy at Coral Ridge. Even on the hottest of summer days, that tropical breeze is a welcome relief. We are happy to announce that those winds are bringing some exciting changes here to the Club as well! Over the summer our new and revised camp programs were hugely successful leading to sold-out sessions and some very happy campers. New employees have brought some fresh insights, ideas and programs alongside our Clubhouse improvements that have prompted changes to dining menus, events and club offerings. If you haven’t been to the Clubhouse since these changes have taken place, you will be welcomed into updated dining rooms and the Men’s Grill that all have new carpeting, tile and wall coverings with corresponding new menus. Our asphalt tennis courts are being converted to HydroCourts, additional lighting is being added to allow for more night play and our junior tennis programs have been expanded.
Our junior golf programs have also been expanded in addition to many of the adult training programs that have been enhanced with new technology that will have you swinging and scoring better than ever. We thank you for taking part in the enhancement process; after a successful e-mail survey this summer, our communications and marketing will be improving based on your feedback. As you peruse through the calendar of events, you’ll see time-honored favorites as well as some new additions. Be sure to save the date and make your reservations early! As many of you are aware, we are on a wait list for our two categories of golf memberships and Members in waiting must either be a social or tennis Member of the Club. If you are thinking about upgrading to a golf membership or know of someone interested in joining the Club, please let us know! With all of these changes occurring, what has not changed around CRCC? Our commitment to serve you, our Members, with personalized hospitality that will exceed your expectations. That is, and always will be, our goal. Let the winds blow; our foundation is solid at Coral Ridge Country Club! CORAL RIDGE COUNTRY CLUB

Overseeding The lush ‘green’ turf of last season will be reintroduced this winter with overseeding on Monday, October 31 and Tuesday, November 1 (at which time the course and range will be closed). Rye grass will be used for the rough and fairways. The process of overseeding involves extensive watering to ensure the seed stays moist so that germination begins. Germination (aka the sprouting) of a rye grass seed takes between 10 to 14 days so the golf course will resume its fast playing surfaces and lower heights by November 21. The maintenance staff appreciates your patience during this process.

New Titleist Metal Woods
If you want to have your best playing season yet, schedule a club fitting with our professional staff. Properly fitted irons need to address the following areas: proper length, lie angle, grip size, shaft flex, shaft material, weight, model of club, etc. We use the latest in fitting technology including Flight Scope, which allows us to measure your club head speed, ball speed, ball spin, carry distance, club path, and angle of attach. By using this technology, we can get you dialed in with the best equipment that fits YOU!
Titleist launches their new 917 Drivers and Fairway Metals this fall and our Members can get a preview! These models are producing faster ball speeds, and are equipped with a revolutionary new weighting system to help players adjust the play ability of the driver. Jimmy Walker used the new 917 model to claim his first major at the 2016 PGA Championship. Titleist will be on-site Saturday, October 22 from 10 am to 4 pm for driver and fairway fittings. Fittings are made by appointment only. Please call the Golf Shop at 954.449.4420.

Members that are able to establish great PACE OF PLAY will become the most popular players on the course! PACE OF PLAY simply means playing in a reasonable time frame and keeping up with the group that started play just ahead of your group. Important tips to acquire include: 1. Be at your starting tee on-time and ready to play, which includes: • Locate playing partners and report to Starter 5 minutes before scheduled time. • Water and ice in cup, if desired. • Supply of golf balls, tees, ball markers, outer wear, etc. • Hit when ready on the tee. • Throughout the play of the hole, be ready to hit when it is your turn or when you are a safe distance from other players, hit when ready. 2. Sharing a golf cart • Always ride two to a cart whenever possible or when instructed by staff. • Drop off passenger at their ball and move on to yours. Remember...safety first! • Take more than one club to your ball…you may change your mind on what club to use. • When in the area of a bunker during an approach shot, take your putter just in case. 3. Be aware • Be aware of the location of the group ahead. If you cannot see them, pick-up the pace. • Be aware of the location of the group behind. If they are near you and waiting, you may need to pick up the pace, if space ahead is available. 4 Recognize the purpose and follow the directions of the Starter/Ranger.

Attention Shoppers
This summer, CRCC had the privilege of being a sectional qualifying site for one of the country’s oldest championships, the Men’s U.S. Amateur Championship. Seventy-one top male amateur players competed for three qualifying spots and two alternate positions. Players and the FSGA Tournament Committee raved about the facilities, food, hospitality and the golf course. One player said, “I have played in several U.S. Amateur Julius Boros, III Qualifiers and Coral Ridge Country Club stood out as one of the best hosts and venues I have experienced.” Congratulations to Members Michael Sullivan, Dwight Rogers, Scott Campbell, Miles Castoro, Luke Gifford (grandson of CRCC Members Dave and Jeanne Villari) and Julius Boros, III (grandson of Julius Boros, former U.S. Open Champion and Member of CRCC) who played in the qualifier. ➤
The holidays are right around the corner. Start shopping early for all your golf needs and gifts! Donna Mulvey, Merchandiser, will be glad to help you with your list and have it gift wrapped. Save the date for our Holiday Bazaar on Sunday, December 11, 1 - 5 pm!

Congratulations to Sam for competing in the USGA Amateur Championship on August 17 at Oakland Hills in Bloomfield, Michigan and fulfilling “a dream to play in that tournament.” ➤
Fabrics go high tech! Fast-drying, moisture-wicking fabrics with two way circulation help keep you cool and dry. Rich shades for fall are the palette for the new Icikuls UPF 50 ladies shirts. More vendors like Peter Millar have incorporated lifestyle apparel to be worn on and off the course. Stretch fabrics breathe, are easy to care for, and provide flex for mobility and comfort. The CRCC Golf Shop offers a variety of apparel, not just for golf! Check out the new Donald Ross, EP Pro Sport, Peter Millar and Ouray Sportswear casual apparel lines and various non-golf related products such as Juno Lady shoes, handbags, travel accessories, jewelry, bathrobes and shower wraps. Camaraderie on the courts
Summer Tennis Camp Wrap-Up CRCC enjoyed a sunny season of tennis combo camp this summer! Children ages 3 14 learned the basics, improved their skills and had a blast on the courts. Jr. Combo Camp, where campers experience golf, swim and tennis has become the latest favorite. New instruction brought new drills and methods leading to results that were “out of bounds”! Watch out parents, your days of winning against your children are coming to an end!

C LU B EV E N T R E S E RVAT I O N P O L I C Y Special club events, wine dinners, Saturday night seafood buffets and holiday dining are popular events that sell out and require the purchase of special food and beverage products, equipment, entertainment, etc. Last minute un-replaced cancellations (including changes to the party number) are unfair to those Members who are turned away due to full capacity and cause the Club to incur unnecessary expenses if the reservation is not replaced. As a result, the Club must exercise a firm enforcement of the special event and holiday dining policy. • At the time of making your reservation we will charge your account 100% of the event price. • Please let us know if you have other Members dining with you, so we may contact them. • You may cancel 7 days prior to event, without being charged. • If you cancel less than 7 days prior to the event, you will have to pay 100% of the event price. Note: Should there be a wait list and we are able to fill your reservation less than 6 days prior to the event, your account will be credited in full.
