Fun & Games…seriously! some serious competition going on at the Club! Many of our golf to u r n a m e nt s h ave already taken place due to the updated schedule for our course restoration closure and many more will take place sooner rather than later in the season. We had a great turnout at the first Junior President’s Cup in September, the sold-out Men’s MemberMember crowned new champs and we look forward to the next events of the season. See pages 10 - 14. Perhaps the stiffest competition was during the w o m e n’s g o l f a n d tennis Halloween themed events pictured in pages 8, 9, & 13. The ladies at CRCC

seem to LOVE to dress up and apparently it has been a tradition!

Did you notice? We updated our pool and terrace furniture! Sit a spell and enjoy a peaceful setting at the Club.

Keeping the Holiday Spirit Ring in the season by making a resolution to make dining reservations! Holidays get very busy at the Club and we want to delight each of you with a table, excellent service and a delicious meal.

What are we missing?

THERE HAS BEEN

Enjoying the view

WGA ladies dressing up tradition, circa 1960’s (those voluminous lashes are back in style)

Through the years, friendly competition at the Club has always been complimented by a genuine spirit of camaraderie, friendship and the importance of having FUN while competing. It’s what makes our events so memorable! And for a little history fun, take our trivia quiz on page 7.

Is there some information you just can’t find? Let us know so we can make it front and center…and easy to find. Contact Ruth with your request at memberservices@coralridgecc.com

New Year, New Ideas! AS WE

2020, our main seasonal events are on the calendar, but we’d still like to hear of new programs events or changes you’d like to see! Last fall we sent a survey our via email and have added many of the suggested programs: more live ball and cardio, social doubles events on Fridays and a singles ladder. But we are not stopping there. Our goal is to give Members as many events as they would like at the times they like! We are happy to make adjustments to days and times for programs in order to fit your schedule. Play begins at 9 am and is followed by a buffet luncheon courtside. Players are encouraged to dress in holiday attire. To add to the festivities, we are collecting toys for the animals at the Humane Society. Please call the Tennis Shop to sign up.

Ione D. Jones/Doherty Championship Monday - Friday, January 13 - 17 The 88th Women’s Amateur Championship & 35th Senior Women’s Amateur Championship begins this week featuring eighty of some of the best players in the state, country, and abroad. With past winners that include six World Golf Hall of Famers and a number of players who have gone on to successful professional careers, the Ione D. Jones/Doherty Women’s Amateur Championship is one of the country’s most storied tournaments for upand-coming golfers. After all, it means a lot to win an event whose champions include greats such as Patty Berg, JoAnne Carner, Babe Zaharias and Marlene Stewart Streit, as well as pros such as Natalie Gulbis, Michelle McGann, Vicki Goetze, Charley Hull and Lexi Thompson. Embraced by the club for the past 65 years, this match-play event pays tribute to the late Ione D. Jones, who was a large contributor of junior and women’s golf in South Florida for many years. We are excited and proud to continue its rich tradition in hosting this prestigious event. The event is one of the longest-running tournaments in the country. The USGA awards points for the Women’s Amateur Championship Division. The Defending Champions are Boynton Beach’s Alexa Pano (Women’s Amateur Championship) and Fort Myers Lisa Schlesinger (Senior Flight). Members interested in providing housing or volunteering as a Spotter, Starter, Scoreboard Operator, or Marker please contact Scott Fox.

Club Event Reservation Policy Special club events, wine dinners, Saturday night seafood buffets and holiday dining are popular events that sell out and require the purchase of special food and beverage products, equipment, entertainment, etc. Last minute un-replaced cancellations (including changes to the party number) are unfair to those Members who are turned away due to full capacity and cause the Club to incur unnecessary expenses if the reservation is not replaced. As a result, the Club must exercise a firm enforcement of the special event and holiday dining policy. • At the time of making your reservation we will charge your account 100% of the event price. • Please let us know if you have other Members dining with you, so we may contact them. • You may cancel 7 days prior to event, without being charged. • If you cancel less than 7 days prior to the event, you will have to pay 100% of the event price. Note: Should there be a wait list and we are able to fill your reservation less than 6 days prior to the event, your account will be credited in full.
