More Grateful Gatherings T H E L A S T M O N T H S of every year are
filled with thoughts of family gatherings and grateful celebrations, but this year, in particular, we look forward with a brighter outlook for the future. Although we are not totally out of the woods in regards to the pandemic, we know a lot more than we did and have safety protocols in place. Families continue to utilize the Club as a
safe haven, an oasis if you will, in which to bring their children and socialize with friends. Many have grown up at the Club and returned to raise their families here, creating a circle of relationships that spans decades. Make your reservations now for our upcoming holiday events. We look forward to making more memories with you!
For everyone’s enjoyment, put all devices on vibrate/silent mode while dining with us or, in the event of a child playing on a device that is not silenced, please use headphones. Thank you for your help in making the Club an enjoyable place to dine.
Let us park the car! The Club offers complimentary valet service. Our professional valet team can park and retrieve your car safely, quickly and courteously.
Shoes and Shirts a MUST!
Thanks for the Memories M R . J O H N “ JAC K ” D RU RY passed away on September 11 at age 90. He was a CRCC Member for 57 years! (Since 1964 – when the Club was in its 10th year.) Jack Drury was a legendary New York advertising and public relations man who found his way to Fort Lauderdale in 1960 and ended up cultivating celebrity pals over the decades. He documented some of his star-studded life with photographs snapped at promotional events in his book, Fort Lauderdale — Playground of the Stars (2008). It is a pictorial peek at celebs who flocked to Fort Lauderdale decades ago, when it was a sleepy

little beach town offering sun, fun and privacy in those pre-paparazzi days. Drury was Buffalo Bob Smith's manager, had a stint as tennis great Billie Jean King's agent and was Johnny Carson's friend among many others. Jack was a permanent fixture at the Men’s Grill and always enjoyed reminiscing by sharing stories of the past, including those about the Club. As he signed his book to us, we are thankful to Jack for providing “the trip down memory lane.” He will be missed.
You’ve heard it before…no shoes, no shirt, no service! This includes our darling kiddoes. It’s tempting to come directly from the pool area, but please have them dress appropriately when entering the Clubhouse.
Humor from the founder… Robert Trent Jones Golf was always in his thoughts. After having a stroke, he awakened in his hospital bed to see his two sons at his bedside.“You had a setback,” he was told. “You had a stroke.” His response: “Do I have to count it?”

Club Event Reservation Policy Special club events, wine dinners, seafood nights and holiday dining are popular events that sell out and require the purchase of special food and beverage products, equipment, entertainment, etc. Last minute un-replaced cancellations (including changes to the party number) are unfair to those Members who are turned away due to full capacity and cause the Club to incur unnecessary expenses if the reservation is not replaced. As a result, the Club must exercise a firm enforcement of the special event and holiday dining policy. • At the time of making your reservation we will charge your account 100% of the event price. Please let us know if you have other Members dining with you. • You may cancel 7 days prior to event, without being charged. • If you cancel less than 7 days prior to the event, you will have to pay 100% of the event price. N O T E : Should there be a wait list and we are
able to fill your reservation less than 6 days prior to the event, your account will be credited in full. For Dining & Social Events Make your reservation online or call the Front Desk at 954.449.4439
Baby & Me Class First Saturday of the month, 9 - 9:45 am Join us for a beginner level group class with both the parent and child in the water. Why Does Dean Talk Funny? O r i g i n a l l y, De a n Greenland, our Director of Aquatics hails from Essex, outside London. In a first encounter, Dean might sound gruff with the children (he was in the Marines). However, many are quite taken with his accent and warm up to him quickly. He says, “people ask me if it is hard dealing with kids all day, and I say no. They are actually very easy. They speak from a place of honesty. I treat them like little adults.” Kids on the other hand are inquisitive about his speech, some needing to know if he is capable of speaking ‘normal’ like the rest of us, if he knows Harry Potter or if he went to Hogwarts. Another wanted to know if he could get a Peppa Pig autograph. But his personal favorite was when one child asked, “Why do you talk like the lizard on TV?” From the mouths of babes… CORAL RIDGE COUNTRY CLUB

Live Ball: It’s fast, fun, and social! TO O B U S Y TO S C H E D U L E matches,
deal with everyone else’s busy schedules, and play hours against the same players? Live Ball is a fast-paced king-of the-court doubles game where 6-12 people play on one to two courts. Add some music and it’s a party! The rules of Live Ball are pretty simple. There are always four players on the court at one time – two on the champion side, and two on the challenger side. To displace the champions, the other two players need to win three points. In order to maintain their reign, champions just need to win two. The first ball is fed by the Coach and the point is played out. Once the point ends, the Coach feeds another ball to begin the next point.
This continues until the champions win two points or the challengers win three points and become the new champions. With the ball being fed continually there is no time wasted in-between points by serves. You will play more points, play against/with more players (players mix as they move in and out as challengers), and will often be on the move! Live Ball is a unique experience made for those who want more time playing out tennis points and less time picking up balls and waiting on serves. Live Ball is a great way to improve your game by allowing you to face more opponents and quickly gain playing experience.

Men’s Event
Looking to Make More Putts? When taking practice strokes, keep your eyes locked on the target. Your eyes tell you how far the target is from you. While you are looking at your target, practice the length and pace of the stroke needed to hole the putt. Next time you tee it up, try looking at the hole during your practice strokes and avoid 3 putts.

Tuesday, Dec. 7: Nov. 7 New Year’s Event
Looking down at your putting stroke makes it more difficult to determine the length of the upcoming putt. Speed control is essential in putting. If your eyes are not determining what speed you need for the length of your putt, it will be tougher to control your distance. Controlling speed will lead to less 3 putts.
