an amazingly diverse group of dedicated employees and, throughout the last two years, it has never been more prevalent. Amazingly, 25 countries around the world are represented by our team including Haiti, Philippines, Jamaica, Brazil, Turkey, Chile, Panama, Albania, Slovenia, France, Ghana, Cuba, Trinidad, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Puerto Rico, Nigeria, Greece,

Colombia, Mexico, El Salvador, England, Germany and, of course, the USA. Within the US, our staff hail from New York, Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, Connecticut, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Georgia, Kentucky, West Virginia, Louisiana, Tennessee, New Jersey and Florida. We appreciate our staff and we’re sure you do too. They make the Club feel like H.O.M.E.

Let another praise thee…

“As country clubs go, this one, after their recent course renovation and upgrades moves to the top of the local list. Millions in upgrades has brought this place into the next level with the finest greens, tee areas, bunkers and fairways. They have redone several holes along the new homes area on the back 9 and their practice facility is exceptional. Staff was friendly especially to us being guests...their main member’s dining area was very well-maintained. Their outside circle lunch spot by the pool and on the turn, turns out some of the best burgers in the land.” – Guest Reveiw

How May We Assist You?

A service charge (vs. gratuity) of 20% is automatically added to all dining charges. 100% of any additional gratuities go directly to the server and/or bartender.

Tuesday Dinners Due to their popularity last year, we have brought them back! Make reservations and enjoy another weekday dinner at the club.

Let’s #BLAMEJJ! Of all the odd golf balls found on the course, everyone laughed when they saw this one. Blaming Managing Partner JJ Sehlke occurs at the Club on occasion, but NASCAR Jimmie Johnson actually started it all by leaning into spectator accusations after a close race and has been blamed for everything since! for good reason. Besides being a valued part of our kitchen staff, Sergo Vincent, is also our “soup chef du jour” and has been cooking up our delicious soups for the last five years. Originally from Haiti, he remembers taking a bit of meat from the family meal and, using a makeshift stove behind the house, would pretend to cook. Years later he joined Benihana as kitchen help and moved to chef and then kitchen manager before coming to Coral Ridge. “Cooking is my favorite thing to do, I love to cook” he admits. “I do it with my heart, with love.” Interestingly enough, he does not do it by tasting! He cooks primarily by smell. Although the kitchen has a soup schedule, there is enough flexibility to make changes to it and to vary the recipes slightly so the same soup may have a slightly different flavor from month to month. There are so many fabulous soups, a velvety Lobster Bisque that is served mostly on Sundays, a hearty Roasted Corn & Shrimp Chowder, classic Pasta Fagioli, Chicken Florentine and Spinach & Tortellini, to name a few. His favorite is the Red Beans & Rice as it reminds him of his home country but, in general, he is not a big soup eater. At home he prefers simple quick dishes of fish and vegetables. Members,

You’re right, it’s just like putting. The shaft and your forearms should form a “Y”. From this position, make a small stroke back (maintaining that Y) and then brush the grass on the way through, finishing STILL with that Y. This chip is just like putting. The ball will get in the air slightly and then roll out. This chip can be used with any club from a sand wedge to a hybrid, depending on what is in front of you and the distance you’re looking for!

Men's October Event Winners - Harold Bennett, John O'Flaherty, Sam Kantzavelos, Jerry Bloomquist

Here’s a simple chip for around the greens. This shot is all about the setup. You want to get the heel of the club off the ground to eliminate the chances of the club digging. To do so, stand closer to the ball which will cause the club to be more upright. Now that you’re closer to the ball, make your stance closer, remember chipping is all about finesse, we are not looking for power (narrow stance). This set up should feel familiar…

Keep. It. Simple. Silly!

For the Love of the Game Morning, Noon and Night Programs, clinics and superior courts galore! With all eleven tennis courts lighted, there is no reason to not come out and play in the evenings, but if you prefer sunlight and want to join a program, there are instructional clinics for both adults and juniors. If you are looking for a fun workout, we have both cardio and live ball sessions. If you are just looking to play, call us at the Tennis Shop and we will reserve a court for you. Remember, we are open till 9 pm Monday through Friday. Come on out, we have a program and a court waiting for you.

Tennis Court Etiquette Reminders

assigned to courts 7/8/9 or the two teaching courts. These five courts have divider netting.

Basic court etiquette makes the game more fun for everyone!

• When playing with young children or if you are just learning to play again, ask to be assigned to a court with dividers. This will prevent balls from going onto your “neighbor’s” court. Also explain to your young stars that they are in an adult world and need to act accordingly both while on the court and in the tennis area.

• When on the courts warming up or playing, please use your “indoor voices”. The court next to you should not hear your conversation. • When a ball comes on your court from the court next to you wait until a break in play and then return it. If your ball goes onto the court next to you again wait for a break in play and ask for it to be returned. ALWAYS wait for a break in play in both situations. • When entering the court with one entrance always wait for a break in play and then enter. If entering requires crossing a court again wait for a break in play and go through the middle, not around the back of the court. Going through the middle saves time.

Tennis Club Championships The annual Club Championships will take place in January this year. The singles portion will take place over two weekends: January 8 & 9 and January 15 & 16. Championship, A, and B divisions will be offered to both our men and women Members. Doubles portion will be announced at a future date. Entry deadline for singles is Monday, January 3. Please sign up in the Tennis Shop.

• When taking a lesson or clinic, wait outside the court until the previous lesson ends. • Before leaving the court, please remove your towels, cups, and balls so the players coming on after you don’t have to “tidy up” before starting play. • In busy times play is restricted to 1 1/2 hours for singles and 2 hours for doubles. Please be prepared to leave when your time is up. • Always remember to dress appropriately in tennis attire and most importantly wear proper tennis shoes. Running shoes can damage not only the tennis court but also can cause injury to your body.
