POINTE D'ESNY AND THE DALBLAIR SHIPWRECK Built in 1895 and weighing over 1470 tons, the Scottish cargo ship, Dalblair, left Cardiff on the 14th of November 1901 with a cargo of coal heading for Mauritius. During the year 1902, the ship was caught in an unforseen cyclone and struck on the reefs at Pointe D’Esny where its wreck is still visible today. Professional divers often seize the opportunity to explore the beautiful undersea wreckage, which forms part of the local environment of Pointe D’Esny.
