Animals AROUND THE ROCK
Join the Town of Castle Rock in partnership with Douglas Land Conservancy as we dive into the characteristics that define our local wildlife, including raptors, reptiles, bats and other species. Local wildlife experts, organizations and wildlife rehabilitators such as Nature’s Educators and Colorado BatCREW will be featured at these programs. Discover the various types of animals that live locally and all over the world. Find out what they eat, how they hunt, where they live and how they benefit the local ecosystems. Many of these programs will offer the opportunity to meet ambassadors that represent the various wildlife species in our area and hear about their personal stories. Kids and parents are encouraged at these meet and greet times to get up close to the ambassadors, ask questions and take pictures.

FREE YOGA IN THE PARK Practicing yoga outdoors adds a different dimension to one’s practice. Yoga means union, and when it is practiced outside, one experiences union with nature, humanity and the universe. Being outside deepens the yoga experience in many ways: it helps one to focus awareness, breathe deeply and practice stillness. Join Inner Connections Yoga & Wellness, Rock Salt Therapy & CommuniTea at The Amphitheater at Philip S. Miller Park for this free community class 9–10 a.m. every Sunday from Aug. 4 to Aug. 25.
YOGA KIDS YOGA This unique program is geared towards kids 6–10 years of age and encourages self-expression as well as improving confidence and coordination. Children will learn how to focus and center themselves with various poses and techniques.
TEEN YOGA The benefits of teen yoga are many. Yoga builds strength, increases flexibility, coordination and balance, builds core stability and improves posture. Yoga helps with mental focus, being present, connecting to emotions and learning to have compassion for the self and for others. Studies have shown that practicing yoga helps decrease stress and anxiety and increases positive moods.
