LEARN TO SWIM: TODDLER/YOUTH LEARN TO SWIM AT THE MAC The Town of Castle Rock’s Learn to Swim program opens the door to a lifetime of opportunities in the water through progressive instruction in a group or private setting. Our year-round program specializes in teaching all ages and ability levels, from toddlers to adults, following a continuous curriculum developed to ensure swimmers learn the skills and endurance to be safe and confident in the water. With a maximum depth of 4.5 feet and with a temperature of 87 degrees, the pool at the MAC is an ideal location for swimmers to learn in a comfortable setting. The Learn to Swim program requires that participants wear commercially produced swimsuits. Please also bring a towel, goggles (optional) and swim cap or hair tie (long hair). Group Swim Lesson Registration We offer priority registration for all currently enrolled students. The second to last week of each session, parents have the option to enroll for the next session in advance of general registration opening to the public. Please use priority registration week to optimize the best schedule for your swim lesson needs. Priority registration must take place in person, at the MAC Front Desk or in the pool office with a Coordinator. Payment takes place at registration time. Leaving a message could delay your registration into the next session. Find the dates for registration in our upcoming sessions below and at CRgov.com/LearnToSwim or register at CRgov.com/Registration. We kindly request that you do not double-register your child in order to get the class you desire. The Swim Lesson Coordinator will apply a 10 percent cancellation fee to all cancellations requested within three days of the beginning of the session. After this date, refunds will not be available. JUNIOR GOLF LEAGUES The 6-hole, 9-hole and 18-hole Junior Golf Leagues give advanced junior golfers the opportunity to have fun and compete each week for prizes that are redeemable at the end of the season. We use a variety of tournament formats to introduce golfers to the competitive side of the game while subsequently teaching teamwork, etiquette and honesty along the way. The league fees listed below will include entry into the 2020 Junior Golf Championship on July 21, as well as a voucher good for one meal before or after each weekly event. A junior is right for this league if they have significant on-course experience, know and follow the basic rules and etiquette of golf, show satisfactory golfing ability and can maintain pace of play. Poor etiquette and or/cheating can disqualify you from future league events at the discretion of the professionals at Red Hawk Ridge. Due to the popularity of the Junior Golf Leagues and to give everyone a fair chance to participate in 2020, we will be holding a lottery for all spots. Lottery registration will be available online beginning April 15 and continue through May 8. Those selected will be notified via email May 9. Payment must be received by May 23 or your spot will be offered to the next available person. We will hold separate drawings for each league, so be sure to register for the appropriate league. ROOKIES (AGES 6-9) SNAG Red Hawk Ridge has adopted the SNAG (Starting New At Golf) program to its curriculum for juniors in the Rookie age division. SNAG is a new and fun way to introduce kids to golf. SNAG contains all the elements of golf, but utilizes modified equipment (i.e. Tennis balls, Velcro targets and lightweight clubs with large club heads). SNAG incorporates specialized teaching methods to deliver results at a higher success rate than students would get out of hitting real balls with real clubs. We provide all of the equipment for SNAG, so please do not bring a set from home. This class is recommended for juniors who have no prior golf experience and would prefer a fun transition into golf rather than jumping right into this highly intricate game.
