Welcome to CUE the event magazine
H
ello and welcome to the very first edition of Cue The Event Magazine!
This magazine has been born out of a lifelong passion for the very beautiful game of snooker. But not just the game itself, rather the whole experience of going to a snooker tournament. Of course nothing can surpass being at a live snooker match and to experience the action, but there is also the excitement of staying in a new town or city and seeing what the place has to offer. Who doesn’t like staying in a hotel and being treated a little? And whether it’s your first time in the venue town or city, or you are a frequent visitor, there are always new things to explore whilst away from the baize! So our team, who have lovingly produced this magazine, intend to bring, in each issue, a lovely little guide about the host city. We look at where to stay, where to eat and things to do. After all, we can’t be at a snooker match 24 hours a day! Enjoy!! In the spotlight... The Enchantment Chamber - feel the magic
10 I CUE the event magazine
The Enchantment Chamber started off as an idea of wanting to make accommodation for visitors to York that was fully immersive, and enabled guests to feel they were part of a story in the magical world. Starting with a redeveloped apartment as a blank canvas, the journey to create the magic began, as the owners used their background in antiques and contacts in the theming industry, to create, dress and design all the bespoke and unique elements of The Enchantment Chamber.

“We stayed for a couple of nights as a little breather from our jobs in public services, and it was absolutely perfect. Not only is the apartment in a fantastic location to explore York from but the apartment itself is absolutely stunning! The photos make the place look fantastic but it’s a whole new level in person. The perfect adult Potter fan‘s treat. The facilities were great too, kept modern and functional with little treats on arrival to make the stay easier.”

“From my initial enquiry right through to the experience we had of the Enchantment Chamber it was incredible - the apartment was local to the Shambles & all things Harry Potter as well as all of the shops, restaurants and bars that York has to offer.”
Barbara Unique, quirky quality apartment “The apartment was spotlessly clean and well maintained. The wizarding world theme was fun, quirky and unique, and the apartment was full of atmosphere, while still containing all the modern luxuries to ensure our comfort. Although we didn’t have the opportunity to meet Miles in person, his communication was excellent throughout and he responded to messages very promptly.”

Sustainability and responsibility are at the heart of everything we do. From the outset, the distillery has been powered by 100% green energy. The company’s vehicles are emission-free and electric. Moves to reduce our carbon footprint include investing in Yorkshire-made bottles and ensuring our neutral grain spirit is made in Yorkshire from grain that’s grown on Yorkshire farms. From paying the Living Wage to supporting local charities and community groups, York Gin continues to be true to our values of treating the planet, our people, partners and community with the utmost respect and kindness.
