Welcome to your newly re vamped and fully loaded monthly People Update!

AUGUST

This month's People Update is a bumper addition. We've packed it with lot's of information that we hope you'll find helpful and informative. From sending our congratulations to those newly promoted, shouting out to those superstars that we couldn't work without and sharing lots of other information, we hope you enjoy this issue! Reflecting on July, it was a busy month, packing up our bits, trying not to melt in the extreme heat, navigating endless tube strikes and most of all, celebrating Pride Month we some wonderful activities, hosted and arranged by our brilliant CULTure Collective. The party was a resounding success and we can't wait for the final Pride Newsletter edition later in the month, where I'm sure we'll see some great pictures from the party! The beginning of August saw us moving into a beautiful new office, and it wouldn't have been possible without Rose. Rose has worked tiereslly over the last few weeks, coordinating with our Landlords, the Property and Facilities teams, internal support at WeWork and all of you to ensure our transition went as smoothly as possible, and I'm sure you'd agree, she's done a phenomenal job! So much work goes on behind the scenes with office moves, and for everything you do see, there's about twice as much if not more, that you don't see, all of which has made this move a success Rose has gone above and beyond to make this move happen, so please, once again, join me in extending a huge thank you to Rose for all her hard work! Rose will be on hand over the coming weeks to iron out any kinks, and just generally being great at supporting us with all things office! We Want You! We're always on the look out for new ideas, so as always, if there is anything you want to share, or any ideas you have, just let us know! Keep cool in this heat, and just give us a shout if you need anything!

Isobel: I'm super excited to try the Charlotte Tilbury beautiful skin foundation, have seen amazing reviews!

Sunny: Easy question! The people, the leadership and the perks! One thing I’ve noticed about the Cult Beauty team is that there’s a lot of trust trust in the brand, trust in one another working towards a shared goal, and trust in ourselves to do the best we can Jodi has been an amazing leader and has made me feel supported every step of the way while also giving me space to learn and tackle things on my own And can’t go past the products that brands so generously send us I think I am easily the favourite housemate right now, keeping our bathroom shelves fully stocked ��

We interviewed some of our new starters to get to know them a little better! Now that you have been in your new role for a few weeks, can you tell us what favourite thing about Cult Beauty is?

Jack: I asked my friend this and they described me as: Iconic, Unique, and Unforgettable I reckon this is because I am always unapologetically myself and don’t take myself to seriously (basically bit of a clown) Sunny: My best friend very sweetly says I’m Sunny by name and sunny by nature so I would say three words would be: sunny, loud and colourful

Jack: Very excited to try the Charlotte Tilbury Charlotte’s Magic Eye Rescue. I have heard lots of great things about this product. Plus, I am also turning 30 this year so the crows feet around my eyes have to go.

Jack: My favourite thing about Cult Beauty is how warm and inclusive everybody has been since I have started I get a real sense of encouraging creativity and allowing people to be their authentic self I am also Currently based in Manchester (Move to London in Feb) and have felt very much supported by everyone which has been greatly appreciated

Clarissa: Overthinker, organised, empathetic I am an anxious being, I need to plan even the simplest of tasks, dislike mess and have been proven to be good at reading people’s emotions.

Clarissa: All Byredo fragrances!

Sunny: I want a snatched face (who doesn’t?) so very eagerly awaiting the new NuFace Mini+ (launching October).

Isobel: I would guess it would be something along the lines of TikTok obsessed, doesn't stop talking and loves prosecco? I may have to go and ask them now as I'd love to find out... What Cult product are you most excited to try soon?

Brooke&Charlotte Both have an amazing, uplifting energy and never fail to make the team laugh They do an amazing job at managing edits and goodies alongside their own brands (which they have a lot of!) and always support the rest of the team Appreciate you both :)

GeorgiaBerry I mean Georgia is the definition of Superstar With all that she touches she does this with grace, calmness, efficiency and spark No task to big or deadline too tight she always goes above and beyond and definitely needs a massive shout out Without her we would be lost

LeahStewart Our job would be 100x harder without She executes what is arguably one of the most important parts of of the social media function and does so with so much reactivity, perfectionism and receptiveness No last minute request is ever too late or feedback ever too big to action Even with the inconvenience of a studio move, she's maintained her output with no compromise on quality A true superstar!

LucyDellamuro Lucy has been SO supportive with answering every loyalty query that comes her way from customers she's quick to respond, thorough in her answers and always puts the customer first Her support has been so helpful whilst dealing with vacancies in the team, so it's really appreciated! Thanks Lucy!

JodyTaylor Jodi is an absolute star and a rock to many in the business She's extremely knowledgeable and passionate about Cult Beauty and her role leading the brand partnerships team Over the years, she's built incredibly strong relationships with each and every brand which has been so important over the last year Her welcoming, positive and infectious attitude makes her a pleasure to work with! Thank you for all you do for all of us x

OliviaMorris Liv has had her eyes set on a career in social media for years you simply could not fault her enthusiasm and proactivity in achieving her goal However, she has proved so much more than passion since joining the team Not only is she creative and innovative, she thinks critically and trategically, asks all the right questions, and brings the best energy everyday Thank you for always giving 110%!

Catrin As a team now of just one Catrin is a true superstar and is always so positive and the best to be around LucyDellamuro Lucy is a great colleague and always puts 100% in whatever she does! She is always there to help if needed always goes above and beyond for colleagues and customers!

Tom Mills Webb will be evolving his remit from CEO, Beauty Brands to Chief Commercial Officer, THG Beauty. He will work with Lucy to ensure the Beauty Brands are fully optimised within the wider Beauty infrastructure to deliver greater growth whilst also driving improvements in Beauty profitability by evolving existing and new brand partnerships to take full value from the unique strategic proposition developed by THG Beauty and Ingenuity.

The first of which sees Lucy Gorman move into the position of CEO, THG Beauty. Lucy joined THG in 2013 as a Trading Assistant during a placement year for her degree. After completing her degree, Lucy returned to THG and quickly rose through the Group after successfully undertaking several different roles. These ranged from Trading Manager at Lookfantastic, to leading the acquisition of GLOSSYBOX, and becoming Managing Director, leading the integration and management of the brand. More recently, at the age of just 26, Lucy was promoted CEO of THG Nutrition, including Myprotein. Lucy had a clear remit to build the brand out from being a largely male focused UK gym brand, into a more premium and appealing lifestyle brand. Lucy’s commitment and focus on building strong teams and driving excellent results makes her a natural choice to take on her new role.

Lisa Marshall Lisa Marshall, People Director in our Nutrition division, will see her responsibility initially expand to oversee both Beauty and Nutrition.

Following a period of transition, she will take on the role of People Director, THG Beauty. This move is testament to her ability and the impact she has made since she joined us in 2016. Her experience will enable us to make a step change in our people offering across the division, which will include HR, Talent, and L&D.'

All the meeting rooms are bookable by doing the following: Open a new meeting invite. In the 'invite attendees' box, start typing 'WW MR' and then all the meeting ro appear. Each meeting room has a letter on it, select the WW MR letter of the room you want to book. Invite any other attendees you would like to include in the meeting. You invite will be accepted in the same way you get notified if a person accepts the meeting if the room is free so essentially, the same way we used to book in Islington.

We know we've overloaded you all with information ahead of the move! Hopefully the below will answer any further questions anyone has! What’s the arrangement for lockers? Lockers are not allocated to a specific person and should not be used to store things long term You're welcome to use the same locker each day, however, please ensure you're only using them as and when you need, to make space for others

Booking

In all meeting rooms there are TV's that you can connect your screen to if you want to share something during a meeting To do this, all you need to do is follow the instructions on the screen to download the Solstice App, and then you'll be good to go!

Up to you, however it's fine to leave on the desks Do we need to lock away the USBC > HDMI Adapters? Please leave the USBC and HDMI cables attached the monitors so that computers are always in a position to be plugged into! How do I find my Wi-Fi password? Open your WeWork app and tap on the 'Account' icon. Select 'Building Guide' then 'Wi Fi'. Here you'll find a personalised password to connect to Wi Fi from your phone/laptop. I have an Android/Chromebook, how do I connect to Wi-Fi?

VITALITY NEWS! ENHANCED HEALTH COVER

In 2020, Cult Beauty introduced Vitality Health Care Insurance for all its employees and many of you have been using the benefit ever since you joined. We're committed to continuing to ensure, we provide a healthy working environment, and more so now than ever since the Covid 19 pandemic has not only highlighted but also in some ways exascebated not only peoples physical health but equally their mental health The news that Vitality have recently made some changes to their health plans means that you will now be covered for enhanced mental health treatment When you joined Vitality, certain conditions may have been excluded from your plan like pre existing mental health conditions With the changes Vitality are bringing in, you can now seek CBT or counselling for any mental health problem through their Talking Therapies network Additionally, they have also introduced enhancements to cancer and physio support If you've opted into Vitality, you shouldhave received an email, outlinng all the changes to the plan To read more about the enhanced cover, click here. Following on from our announcement on CULTure Day, we’re delighted to announce that our two year partnership with Mental Health UK is now ready to kick off!

As part of our alliance, we are supporting four communities close to our hearts: our internal team (that's you!) the LGBTQIA+, black and person of colour communities and those experiencing reproductive lifecycle challenges. We all know that life is not always smooth sailing There can be numerous challenges and obstacles that need to be overcome at any one time Ranging from health, personal relationships, money and work to name just a few. Each person’s way of coping and maintaining balance differ. We each have different 'pressure points' and respond in a unique way to each of them There is no 'one size fits all' Which is why we want to take steps to help empower you to take care of your mental wellbeing, by providing practical tools and resources that can be found in the Cult Beauty teams channel to help you to be your best self, in life and at work. The last year has seen many changes to the way in which we operate as a business We’ve done a great job under very tight deadlines in migrating our platform, transitioning ways of working to align at group level, and much more However, it’s clear that there is still a bit of a way to go With your feedback, we’ve identified three key areas we're committed to improving: People Finding the right people for the right roles, who will add value and strengthen our teams is integral to our ongoing commitment to supporting you all and helping the business grow and succeed.
