COMMUNITY RECEPTOR HUSTLE HUB COMPETITION 2019

LIVING AFFINITY The housing complex is based on a square and replicable grid matrix. Distributed throughout the residential, commercial space and the community landscape, the grid unit of 12m x 12m acts as a core of replication. In order to expand and adapt, residences can ‘attach’ to or ‘acquire’ another square units. Paired with long-term and temporary rental units, it offers immigrants and young people the work-in-progress choices of ownership before their settlement in Moscow.

Playground

Based on a ‘’City within a city’’ concept, our Hustle Hub complex offers various social activities for the residents, locals, and visitors. The domestic amenities give the residents the possibilities to share domestic work and tasks with the community, while also offering them work opportunities close to home. Meanwhile, pop-up shops and markets allow people to easily and quickly set-up and adapt their business on a short and long-term period. The residents celebrate the social and cultural harmony due to the consistent cross-building circulation which flows the living and sharing spirits around the city and worldwide to one urban intersection with its historical depth as a hustle working-living industrial area. BUILDING A

The housing unit is attached to a larger space, which opens up to the cluster garden. Large windows and garage doors provide the opportunity to open the private space to the garden and the outdoors. The connectivity of the cluster gardens provides the unimpeded social and cultural exchange for the residents. This space can be easily rearranged for community meetings, workshops, kid’s birthday parties, and events. This space acts as a buffer and a transition from the private space of the home, to the public space of the complex.

One housing unit includes at least 3 bedrooms, each of them with their own en-suite bathroom and small kitchenette. It gives the residents the opportunity to cook small meals in their private area. Multiple bedrooms have communicating doors, which is convenient for families. The private space of the bedroom, bathroom, and kitchenette are supplemented by the larger communal space. The larger communal space of the housing unit includes a larger kitchen, a living room, storage and plenty of space to gather with roommates, neighbors, and friends.
