Circulation design strategy
I created a ramp series in accordance to the natural slope of the topography to minimize the excavation cost. There is a 4.5-metre difference between the drop-off spot and the basement entry. I also separated the loading access and residential access to maintain security and sufficient space for firefighter truck in emergency cases. Compared to the company’s previous circulation design proposal, my layout offered 10 more parking lots.

Unit Floor Plan
I managed the project’s GFA in Revit Area Plan and Excel. Each number in this Room Matrix represents a unit of residential space. For example, the Studio Apts (Sa & Sb) occupie 1 unit and 1Ba Apts span over 2 units. Whenever the client required any alternation I could easily merge and divide these units to generate new dwelling types.

HO TRAM GOLF COURSE VILLA XUYEN MOC DISTRICT, BA RIA-VUNG TAU PROVINCE, VIETNAM
emergence of the sand - Professional work - Design Worldwide Partnership - 4 months - 2017 - Role: Deliver Construction Documentation package
Inspired by the geometry of a seashell - an intimately familiar icon of the coast, the actual roof geometry responses to any load outside by redirecting forces within a very thin section of shell structure along its natural multiple curvatures. Furthermore, as the way of respecting the landscapes, the sandy curved roof and the idea of tucking the building into the landscape were drivers of the concept from the beginning. The villas become almost invisible being an integral part of Mother Nature and this beautiful golf course.

Besides Riverpark Residence, I was also in charge of 5 Revit projects. My team built architectural and structural models of the podium and residential towers separately and then ran tests to find the conflicts between the models. From the BIM models, I extracted and organized the quantity takeoffs of the building materials to estimate the building costs, assisting the business plans and design conflict mitigation of all construction phases. My roles demand a constant cooperation with structural and MEP engineers, project managers and quantity surveyors. My BIM models are code compliant and agree with CSI Master Format, building measurements, and local construction methods of the contemporary building industry in Vietnam and Myanmar.

The series of posts anchors and secures the floating platform when the sea level rises. The extension of the posts to a flexible shading system provides a more comfortable walkway for pedestrians and protects the boats’ selling activities at the markets. The shading canopies play the role of fresh water collectors which cater to the sanitary quality in the markets.

An office building project is an ambitious experiment to address the core issues with daylight in urban environments: daylight scarcity in the high-rises and daylight excess resulted from purely transparent envelopes. The daylighting analyses in this thesis are generated in DIVA-Grasshopper. The algorithm attempts to measure the illuminance levels on every floor plan in the building and translate them into inflation intensities on its envelope.

Design Research with Material Integration
The variation of the pneumatic forms depends on their patterns, the air pressure and material properties
The prototypes using pneumatics and silicone rubber attempt to bridge the realm of digitality and physicality in biomimetic design. Thanks to the fluidity and uniformity of pneumatic units activated from their pattern layouts, the natural forces such as light and air can construct physical transformations of the building envelope and its translucency. To this end, the biomimetic envelope has achieved a more complex pattern of multi-functionality, which adapts to daylight while maintaining thermal balance and generating a dynamics of visual affinity for either the interior users or the passers-by.

Illuminance Results and User Experience in the Building Interior For decades, modern office buildings have been pretty much covered in glass curtain walls to invite maximum natural light. Excessive daylight creates excessive contrast and glare. With the pneumatic envelope, the lower the illuminance value received on a cell, the more air pumped into that cell. As a result, larger pneumatic cells will be more transparent and allow more daylight to access the interior, whereas thinner cells diffuse the excessive light, reduce glare, and enhance privacy when needed.

The project is located in the very heart of Saigon - District 1 which is famously claimed as the 200 year-old financial, commercial and cultural hub of the city. Therefore, the architectural language of the Museum is influenced by both the surrounding historic buildings and the modern trends. Museums tell the knowledge of artworks, then the building concept itself reveals a story of history development

10 SQUARE GRID AND UNIT
HUSTLE HUB COMPETITION MOSCOW, RUSSIA
community receptor - Collaborative Project A - M.Arch - Nov 2019 to Feb 2020 - Role: Conceptual design, massing study, digital modeling, rendering and illustration
The housing complex is based on a square and replicable grid matrix. Distributed throughout the residential, commercial space and the community landscape, the grid unit of 12m x 12m acts as a core of replication. In order to expand and adapt, residences can ‘attach’ to or ‘acquire’ another square units. Paired with long-term and temporary rental units, it offers immigrants and young people the work-in-progress choices of ownership before their settlement in Moscow.

bringing science to the public - Teamwork - 4 weeks - 2013 - Role: Conceptual design, master plan, massing study, and functional layouts Due to low lying geography, Vietnam is one of the countries in the world most at risk from flooding. The country suffer major consequence from thermal expansion of the oceans due to human influenced climate change. The competition is to take full consideration of how general public can contribute their concern and knowledge to a science building where generations of wet rice and locally herbal species are nurturing and protecting. The project is located in a zone of enhanced mangrove landscape, dredge and cleaned waterway. It gathers individuals and self-help groups of people who wish to contribute their enthusiasm to the national sustainability.
