Reminders Contests and AARF - March 1st DRON Registration - March 6th
A Message from your LTG Hi everyone! I hope the weather has been treating you well. We’ve had a lot of snow days but that hasn't stopped Key Club from holding service projects and elections! I’d like to congratulate Dianna Torres from Cedar Creek for winning the Lieutenant Governor elections for what will now be division 2 (starting after DCON). To the officers, please continue to promote DCON to your general members and have the registration sent in by March 6th. I hope to see many of you at DCON traveling the world of service with us.
Meet Your New LTG Elect!
Dear Division 1B, My name is Dianna Torres, and I am a junior at Cedar Creek High School. I would like to begin, by thanking you for giving me the opportunity to lead Division 2 through a new service year. I am honored, and very excited to work with the most amazing, selfless people I have ever met, and I have great plans in store for the new service year! I have a great passion for Key Club, which was developed as I became more and more involved in my club. Eventually, I was elected as the secretary of my club, and I helped assist my club grow from being a very new club that had some difficulties, to a strong and stable one, and along with that I have grown as a leader. I’m very eager to continue building my leadership skills as your Lieutenant governor, and help unite us as a division, and of course, meet all of you! Thank you, Dianna Torres
Club Elections The Key Club service year ends on March 30th, and because we end so soon, it is a good idea to have club elections early so that the incoming board can get a feel for what they will be encountering throughout their term. - Elections should be held during a general meeting with the use of ballots to vote. - Elected positions include: President, vice president, secretary, editor and treasurer - The position of webmaster is optional and can be appointed. - Candidates should give a short speech which can be followed by questions from the members - After elections are completed, please create a roster of new officers and send the information to me so that I can pass it down to my elect
Questions What happens if a great candidate loses? This happens all the time and sometimes it’s for the better. This member can take the chance to reflect and run again next year, try for a district position at DCON, or your club could create a committee member position for them to help find projects and keep in touch with Kiwanis/the district. Where can members learn more about the club positions? Old officers can hold small meetings to talk to all the candidates and go over the position. There are also resources on keyclub.org as well as in your service agreements. What are some good questions to ask candidates? What would you change about the club? What projects do you want to bring next year? How do you plan to expand our club? What can we do to be more active on a district level?
