Reminders DCM-March 16th DCON - March 28th-30th Final day for current officers is March

A Message from your LTG Hi everyone! This year is quickly coming to an end and there is only one more issue of my newsletter to come! Some of your clubs have already had elections, if you have already held them please send me a roster of the new officers. If you have not yet held elections you can check my last issue for information on how to hold elections. This year we have two clubs from our division attending DCON, EHT and Cedar Creek. I hope that next year even more of you can attend! It’s a great weekend and for those of you attending I know you will have a great time.

Midwinter Training Conference Once DCON ends, the current district board will have officially stepped down and become general members again. Since we leave the hotel right after DCON, the new board must train ahead of time for their new jobs. Just like an OTC, each LTG meets with their elect to go over the division but the elects also get the chance to bond through games and just sitting together at dinner and getting to know each other. This year the elect board has gotten very close and have basically become a family already. The candidates for district executive positions also get a chance to

Midwinter Training Conference

Aside from all the fun bonding time we get, there is a lot of work that also happens at Midwinter. There are different committees on the district board. Year long standing committees include things like the Eliminate Project, Public Relations and International Partners. There are also half year committees that relate to Fall Rally and District Convention. At Midwinter , the chair persons for each committee give short presentations to the new board so that they can chose whichever committee best suits their interest.

Board Meetings The New Jersey District Board doesn’t get to meet often, but when we do a lot of business has to get done. The NJDB meets in April, August, October, November, January and March. Although it seems like we meet many times, we have a lot of work to do. At the board meetings we spend time in committee meetings coming up with district goals, going over awards for the state and making publications to help all the clubs in New Jersey. Aside from committee meetings we also review what each LTG has done and what the executive board has done.
