GOOBLE GOOBLE DIVISION 13 NORTH GREEN MONKEYS?!!?

I am Lauren Trinity Uy and I proudly serve as Division 13 North’s Division News Editor (DNE) for the ‘22-’23 term :D I would like to formally welcome all readers to the BANANA BULLETIN! I am extremely ecstatic to be publishing the fifth issue of the BANANA BULLETIN! This past month has been amazingggg and crazy but I am so very thankful for my publicity committee, without my amazing committee this newsletter wouldn’t have been possible . In addition, I would love to address all the growth that I have witnessed within all of the clubs in our division. I am so proud of each and everyone of you all.

I CAN’T BELIEVE FRS HAS ALREADY SWUNG PAST US! And it is bananas that we won that spirit stick. I am so proud of each and every member in our division for working so hard. All the spirit sessions and late nights are all worth it at the end. Keep up all the hard work Division 13 North!

Lastly with all the hard work I have seen behind the scenes for our division, I would just like to commend all clubs and all officers for working so hard this past month. Everyone continues to improve and help our Division each and every day. Know that your hard work is seen and to KEEP IT UP :))

With that being said, thank you so much for reading this term’s fifth issue of BANANA BULLETIN! I hope you readers enjoy it!

WHAT’S SWINGING DIVISION 13 NORTH!!

Who won that spirit stick?! WE WON THAT SPIRIT STICK!! That’s right, Division 13 North went to Fall Rally South and came back with one stick added to our collection. I am so so grateful for every member in attendance for any of our RTC or FRS spirit sessions, Region Training Conference, or Fall Rally South! Many people think the spirit aspect of Key Club is silly, but I am so happy that many of you guys found fun out of it and were able to come together as a division to win that spirit stick!

Other than that… as we inch closer and closer to the end of term, even closer to DCON, as a division we must elect our new Lieutenant Governor for the 2023-2024 term. As Lieutenant Governor, not only was I able to service back to the division that fostered my own leadership and sense of acceptance, but I was also given unique and valuable opportunities like attending International Convention at our country’s capital in D.C. If you have any questions about being Lieutenant Governor, please feel free to ask me because I am more than happy to help! Please also be on the lookout for any interest forms and major events like Candidate Training Conference on our Instagram.

Other than that, I am beyond excited to be so much closer to our service goal of 5000 hours. We are currently a few over 4300 meaning 700 left to go! As you know, we have already accomplished our $4000 fundraising goal to the Pediatric Trauma Program so reaching out service hour goal would make me and the rest of our Division Leadership Team overjoyed.

Thank you so much for being YOU, Division 13 North.

Swinging with Service, Kai Noah Jugo

GOBBLE GOBBLE GREEN MONKEYS !

it’s that holiday season again ! grab your onesie, get that hot chocolate, and watch some cool movies … is what i would say if you weren’t in key club. but you know the deal , GET THAT SERVICE GRIND ON ! during the holidays , many of us forget the privilege we have to go home , and eat huge meals with the ones we love . however, during the break , i challenge each and every one of you to take one day out of your break to help others in need . it can be with the numerous service events key club will hold , or just on your own ! i guarantee that you will get more happiness knowing that you can give others a christmas or thanksgiving, some things that we all didn’t have to think twice about.

while school settles down in time for the holidays, please make sure to stay healthy and to not let those grades slip ! we are almost there to having a good break , don’t give up yet :D if you need any help on school or other duties , there’s always helping hands everywhere for you (even me!). let’s not hesitate to use them !

to keep it short and sweet i’ll end it here , but HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL SERVIN’ SOON !!

In the past month, Division 13 North hosted our annual October DCM where members were able to hear about club updates, division updates, and more! We also hosted many spirit sessions leading up to RTC and FRS accumulating many members to fall in love with Key Club this fall.

Division 13 North clubs also kept members engaged during November like Cerritos Key Club’s Chinese School Festival service event as well as Norwalk Key Club’s Krak Boba fundraiser.

This month, we were able to raise over 1000+ hours alone. We are getting so much closer to our 5000 service hours goal! Keep it up, Green Monkeys!

In the month of October, Downey Key Club collaborated with Youth Voters Club and held an event that revolved around the bond measure, Measure K. Measure K is a bond measure to renovate Downey district 13 elementary schools. Renovations include removal of bungalows and fresh painting. This event took place on October 22nd around the city of Downey from 8-12pm. At this event, members were told to knock on doors and hand out pamphlets regarding the measure, in order to encourage votes. Students from Downey High School were led by Jordan Curiel, an active advocate for Measure K. Downey Key Club had some members participate and were excited to be advocates of a student lead campaign day that will improve their community!

My name is Jesus Frausto and I’m a returning member of Mayfair Key Club. On October 14th, 2022 our Division held our 2nd RTC Spirit Session of the term, at Bellflower Kiwanis Hall. We had over 60 members that attended from different schools ready to practice even more on the cheers we've done already. We started the spirit session with some introductions and a game of Poncho for the icebreakers. After the ice breaker, we all split up into 4 groups. One group perfected the 1 cheer and started the 2nd and the other three groups started learning the 1st cheer. Towards the end of the spirit session we all got back into one huge group and performed the cheers together. Then we all stood together for one last time to take our division photo. In my personal opinion I felt that the second spirit went amazingly well, from the icebreakers to our one big group cheer. I am excited and can not wait for RTC and FRS!!

my name is franci chang and i thankfully serve as gahr key club’s president! this past month, our club held our 7th general meeting of the term where we discussed old business, new business, fally rally south process, and upcoming events. from spirit sessions to cheering our hearts out; despite the busy month, we powered through that. in other words; damn fall rally was crazy… it was like finishing another chapter of my key club journey. i have so much to express but i’ll save that for banquet. i’m beyond proud and thankful to the entirety of our division. especially to the kiwanis members and advisors for dedicating days, for this event to be possible. to everyone, thank you for making the senior’s final fall rally as memorable as it is. proud to say “four sticks on us.” now onto service! service wise, gahr key club has held a tutu-making service event where members handmade tutus as spirit gear for frs! furthermore, we have an upcoming sandwich-making & food drive for the homeless shelter where all info is posted in our graphic. all are welcome to participate! that’s it from me & have a fun dcm.
