What's up Division 13 South? I hope all of you guys have been doing well! Congrats to the Class of 2020 for finally graduating!! You all have impacted us so much and we’re gonna miss you a lot. School is finally out, so please take this time to relax and destress from schoolwork! Aside from this, find some time to spend time doing your hobbies or helping out around the house. Your schedules should be a bit more free now, so try to participate in more service events! Summer is known to be very inactive, so please try your best to serve your community! I want to congratulate everyone that were chosen to serve on our division’s publicity committee, spirit team, and judging committee! I am very excited to work with you all, especially those in pubLITcity (ahaha)! Thank you to everyone that applied for a committee, for taking the time to show what you can do, in hopes of serving our division. If you weren’t chosen, please do not be discouraged! There are still so many ways to serve our division without having a position! Finally, our Officer Training Conference with Divisions 13 North and 13 West is coming up soon! This is a great opportunity for officers to learn more about their positions and serve your home clubs effectively. This is also a great way for you to learn about various officer positions if you are interested in running for one in the following term! Thank you for taking the time to read this issue of the Ninja News! I hope you enjoy!! :) Kickin’ for Service,

Although the school year might be over please remember that service doesn’t end here! There will be many fun events this summer so be on a look out. I am so proud of this division for working so hard during these tough times without you our division wouldn’t have served 2,000 hours out of our 9,000 hour goals, raised $121 for ptp, and even raised $152 for mnt. Keep up the good work and I hope to see you guys very soon! Kickin’ for Service,

HIHI NINJAS!
Thank you all for attending the recent events! I hope you guys all had as
much fun as I had at June DCM; the DLT video Audrey made was iconic and really made me feel like a clown. Congratulations to all that have gotten into Spirit Team, Judging Committee, and Publicity Committee! I believe that Division 13 South will rise with our new committees. I’m excited for what is to come next month, and I believe that you guys can keep working hard despite the current social issues. Please take this time to reflect on yourself, your surroundings, and keep serving your community as best as you can. Keep racking up service hours, and stay kickin’ ninjas. I love you all!
Hey Ninjas! Thank you so much for your participation during June and our Service Weeks so far! It makes me so proud to serve a division that is still active and willing to serve their community along with persevering through these difficult times. As much as I know we all can’t wait to do some hands on service (I miss tree plantings and marathons </3), you can always do your part and serve your community from the comfort of your house. Congrats to everyone chosen to serve on our division committees! I’m excited to be working with those on Spirit Team! Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions, comments or concerns! If you’re also just bored and wanna talk, I’m here for you too <3 (Quarantine do BEE getting lonely sometimes). With that being said, I can’t wait to see your participation in future events and can’t wait for us to reunite when quarantine is over!

Jeanna Paalam Webmaster | Gahr For the mother’s day card event, I made two cards: one for my mom and one for my grandma since they are the two leading ladies in my life. My mom got a card that had “Happy Mother’s Day” on the front in cursive with a sweet note on the inside as well as a paper mache hot air balloon I had been working on for her over the week prior. My grandma received a card that had the middle of the front cut out with tiny banners that were glued to it that read “Happy Mother’s Day” with a sweet note on the inside. On top of that, we tried to make the whole day special for them, even in quarantine, by making their food and taking care of what they would usually do around the house, even if it wasn’t for service hours.

Samantha Villa Vice President | Gahr To honor those who have lost their lives fighting for our country, Gahr Key Club hosted a service event for Memorial Day. For this service event, members had the option of making a card or a graphic for those who risked their lives for us. It truly warmed my heart as I physically wrote out my gratitude on a handmade card. Not only was it for a great cause, but it also gave myself and the members a chance to get creative in expressing their appreciation. It’s the simple things that count, and I am positive that the cards our amazing members made will mean so much to those who receive them.
Megan Deseo Graphic Editor | Poly During the month of May, members participated in the division service week. This was a tough week for the members who had to take their AP exams during that week, but likewise many have still participated and earned numerous service hours. Throughout the week, members wrote their teachers emails of gratitude, informed everyone on productivity, recycled, created thank you cards for our essential workers, and created masks that could help them become safe during the pandemic. Regardless of being in quarantine and staying at home, our members have done a great job using this time to earn hours and help everyone in our community.
Coral Pongsuwan Historian | Bellflower May 16th was our monthly DCM for the Division, May being Animal Crossing theme. A few of our members went in which they had an amazing time! We got to know our DLT by playing 2 truths 1 lie! Bellflower Key Club also won Club of the Month which was super exciting because our board and members have worked hard to stay active throughout this stay at home order. Thank you to everyone who came out!
