On Time Registration: $179.00 per member Late Registration: $219.00 per member Hotel: $220.56 per night x 2 nights = $110.28 (With 4 persons sharing) The registration fee goes to all convention sessions and workshops, meals on Saturday and Sunday, program, and souvenirs!

District Convention is a great learning experience for both members and those who hold officer positions. Workshops will be held in order to help strengthen you as a leader and help you create bonds with those from different parts of the District! Mayfair High School Key Clubbers volunteered to make and pass out Thanksgiving dinner baskets at Kiwanis Hall on November 24. Members helped by counting, sorting, and dividing the foods equally. Fifty boxes of Thanksgiving meals were made and given to local families who would not be able to afford buying their own Thanksgiving dinner. From 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., baskets were filled with turkeys, pies, fruits, and vegetables. Families began to pick up their baskets at around 2 p.m. This was a wonderful event to start off the holiday season, and we look forward to participating in similar events in the future, like the Christmas food basket making.

For the month of November, Bellflower Key Club started out by helping out Mayfair Key Club with their yearly St端ssy Sale event on the 9th. This also happened to be the date of the SAT test taking place at Mayfair High School as well. Very dedicated key clubbers came straight out of testing to continue and volunteer for the day even right after being so mentally worked out. Together it was a successful turnout with 22 of Bellflower Key Club members helping out through the entire day and plenty more groups from the other schools in the division. We worked to place, organize, and fold the merchandise in the hot scorching sun. Aside from also supervising the sales of the clothing, key clubbers also had a chance to buy up a few brand pieces of their own at a decent affordable price with the volunteer discount. Though that was a surprise and definitely not just the reason for our key clubbers to work that day. By supporting the brand full-heartedly as much as it is loved, we raised money for a real cause.

On November 30, Mayfair Key Club helped prepare for the Special Olympics Christmas party by getting the presents ready. Members went shopping for gifts, and then returned to Kiwanis Hall to wrap them. There were three tables covered with gifts to be wrapped, sorted into girls’, boys’, and gender-neutral toys. These presents were all given out at the Special Olympics Christmas party on December 6 held at Simms Park. Both of these events were tons of fun, and Key Clubbers definitely brought the Christmas spirit!

On December 13th, members from both Division 13 North and South came together for a Christmas celebration as well as a DCM! The day was packed full with socializing, different ice breakers, Christmas spirit, and activities such as a photobooth! This DCM was a great way for the counterparts to get to know one another as well as share different ideas for fundraisers and events. It was also another great way for new members after Fall Rally to get a taste of events such as DCMs as well as meet new friends. It’s safe to say that after the DCM we all came closer as an Ohana and are very excited for the next time we all see one another at Conclave!
