…24 hours later… Relay for life was an amazing event to go to because it was for an amazing cause; Cancer awareness. Since we’ve all been affected by cancer somehow, maybe by cancer affecting a relative or a friend, we all want to help and show our support for the survivors, fighters, and remember the ones that we have passed away do to cancer. At this event, we walk laps around a track in 30 minute to an hour intervals! We switched off with groups of 3-5 people in each group. While we walk, we get to fundraise money for cancer society research! To raise money, we got our members to help and donate $10, and including the $10 from everyone, we sold squirt guns and spray bottles! Along with the water fun, we got to sell hennas and face paints!! The members got to volunteer by doing the hennas and face paints throughout the day AND help sell the water fun toys! I’m so proud to say that we raised a whopping $1000 dollars to donate to Cancer Society from the donations, and things we sold, so they can use the money for research! This could not have been possible without YOUR help! So, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR HELPING US! This event was super fun even though it was 24 hours because it was for a good cause, the fun contests they had like MISS RELAY, and of course, we all got to have fun hanging out together and volunteering! If you came out to RELAY FOR LIFE 2015, thank you so much! And if you didn’t get the chance to come out this year, COME NEXT YEAR! We’ll be glad to have you with us and help raise awareness for cancer! Jackeline Ngo // Chino Hills
