DLT’s winter wishes 1. to finish the term even stronger than we started it and keep caring, love, and service in our hearts further than 2017 2. to keep the family aspect that has made D15 the division we are proud to be a part of, despite our coming split 3. to surpass the goals we set entering the term and inspire those around us to make caring their way of life 4. to continue to serve others and our communities even more than we did before 5. to continue to make a difference in our communities by representing who we are as Key Club members in different aspects of our lives and set an example of what strong servant leaders should be as we enter another blessing-filled year

Isaiah’s Rock by Erin Huang, Chino Hills For the Thanksgiving holiday, we helped Isaiah’s Rock package and sort food that was donated by other organizations. There were so many people there and it made me really happy to see people helping out our community. I ran into different Key Clubbers from other schools and it was really cool to see my friends again. They played music and had bright lights to cheer up the atmosphere and bring holiday cheer to the volunteers. First, we cleaned out boxes of products and separated them into categories like beans, soups, sweets, and much more. Then, we took plastic bags and went around and got two items in each category and tied the bags off to be placed into huge cardboard tubs. The food that we packaged was Thanksgiving related, items like pasta, coffee, and many more delicious foods. There were multiple lines, but very concentrated volunteers, so the system went smoothly and quickly. Although the weather was cold, all of the helpers seemed to have fun. We then said prayers and sang a song to bless the hotdogs that they cooked for the volunteers. Overall, Isaiah’s Rock was a huge success. It is honestly such a great organization because they do so much for the less fortunate families all throughout the year!

Fall Rally by Dennise Gutierrez, Upland Fall Rally, the annual event where Key Club divisions from all over district 13 meet and compete to see who has the most spirit. From the start, Upland Key Club was very excited and full of energy, all board members did a great job keeping everyone excited, determined, and optimistic for the rally. From tutus to glitter to face paint, all of our key clubbers were beyond ready to cheer their hearts out. We had one main goal for this event: to win the spirit stick. We made it our duty to achieve this goal for our board members; they had worked so hard and deserved to win, especially our seniors who had been trying to win for years. All D15 giraffes stepped up and when the time came, we did our absolute best to perform our cheers with immense volume, spirit and enthusiasm. In the end, our hard work paid off when we won the spirit stick. This big victory was a special moment for everyone; the atmosphere was filled with happiness and gratitude. There was a lot of joy and love for the members of our club. Upland High School’s Key Club President, Jenny Ho, and Main Spirit Coordinator, John Tran, felt completely overjoyed by the victory that they had worked so hard for, as well as the rest of the D15 board and active club members. They all displayed their joy with happy tears and hugs. After a nine-year drought for the giraffes, 2016 members ended it and made it an even bigger moment, knowing that it was possibly the last year all D15 schools would share the same division. This year might have been our last as the biggest division in our district, but it was truly a memorable one. Buzzing with joy and excitement, D15 giraffes had a great time sharing many laughs and having a blast spirit battling other clubs. Personally, the day was one for the memory books. From having a great time with other members to cheering our hearts out at the rally, the day went better than I could have ever planned. The annual event at Six Flags Magic Mountain left a big impact on our members and left them excited for another attempt at winning next year. We are ready to continue to be a great club. To our seniors, congratulations you deserved it!

Fall Rally by Dev Bhatt, Ruben Ayala Chino Hills is a fairly young city. It was originally a part of Chino, but was separated in 1991. Recently, the new city celebrated its 25th year anniversary with a tree-lighting ceremony at their local community center. Ayala Key clubbers were asked to help with the festivities. They did everything from serving hot drinks to attendants to helping children write letters to Santa Claus. Our club also helped set up certain stations and areas, as well as serve food and help with face painting. Throughout the evening, many of the members volunteering, including myself, were astonished at the amount of progress our city has made in a mere 25 years. We were excited to see what was in store for the city’s future. At the end of the event, we were invited to have some cookies and take a picture with Santa and Mrs. Claus. I look forward to more community based events like this in the future.
