Oxford Preparatory Academy by Isabella Tan, Chino Hills Volunteering at OPA was a lot of fun! I got to meet a lot of OPA students and it was fun interacting with all of them. We assisted in completing various tasks around the school. Some Key Clubbers helped OPA staff members pass out various snacks to students during their recesses. There were other Key Clubbers who helped clean up around the classrooms and supervise students using computers. I, along with another member, got to play board games with some of the students. It was very enjoyable being able to spend my afternoon meeting and playing with some OPA students. I also got to learn a lot about OPA’s campus and curriculum. One of the staff members was kind enough to introduce us members to the campus and explain some of its daily activities and events. Overall, volunteering at OPA was a very enjoyable experience and I would definitely recommend members to attend this event next time there is an opportunity to!!

Historian by John Kim, Los Osos March is the last month that I submit articles and visuals for my club. The term seemed to have only lasted a second, yet I have had so many memories, some good and some full of frustration, but all of which I will remember and hold dear for the rest of my life. Being a part of the officer board for Los Osos Key Club has been a blessing. Through my darkest days and brightest, my members and fellow officers have always been there for me and through Key Club, I have obtained experiences that I believe I could not have obtained anywhere else. I am truly grateful. Although I am plagued with sadness due to my soon ending term, I am sure that the members I will soon leave will grow into the caring and inclusive leaders that Key Club was made to nurture. This has been a truly amazing term and I would give the world to experience it again.

Father Daugther Dance by Leo Park, Chino Hills Helping out at the Butterfield Ranch Father Daughter Dance event was a lot of fun! At the event, I was in charge of managing the cookie distribution and assisting in places where I was needed. At this section, I basically handled the giving of the cookies to the people and refilling when there needed to be more. Also, other jobs I had were helping to pick up the toilet rolls and waste on the stage. that participated in this event, such as Isabella, did things like distribute popcorn to the parents and their children. I highly recommend others to go to this event in the future because it was a unique volunteer experience where I got to interact with kids, and was also very enjoyable with friends.

D15 Memories 2016-2017

Messages from the DLT... This is it, giraffes! Through the entire past term, it has been an honor to serve you as your Lieutenant Governor; and now, as the last month dwindles to a close, I can't help but feel a crazy wave of nostalgia and excitement about what we've accomplished this term. We won the spirit stick. We've raised over $3,000 for PTP, served over 14,000 service hours, chartered a new club, and are set to realign into two beautiful new divisions at the close of the term. I'll never forget the amazing things we've done, but it's always the most amazing thing to know all of the wonderful memories that are to come. Please give your beautiful new elects the same energy and love that I've felt this term, and remember that even if your Key Club journey is ending, your time as a servant leader is not over. Stay amazing, stay passionate, and continue to the change the world. I love you all so much! See you at DCON and banquet! Love, Ricardo Ruiz

There are no words to describe how thankful I am for the ability to serve as your Executive Assistant for this term. Hearing that on my own birthday I had finally won a position after five tries, it was unbelievable, and that wasn’t even my birthday gift! If anything, serving you this term was my gift, if not a blessing. Going into the elections I would constantly say, “Fifth times the charm,” but in reality, the charm was in the division I learned to love. From giving me the motivation to pursue even further and run to be your lieutenant governor, to me constantly repeating the phrase “Seventh times the charm,” I realized that I had nothing but love for our division 15 giraffes. And although I had lost I know for a fact that both Allie and Michelle will do an amazing in leading us in this upcoming term. All in all, this isn’t my goodbye, maybe in eighth times the charm you can expect to see me as an officer again but I’ll leave that to the bright future we all have ahead of us. Yours In Service, Dylan Pelayo

This year was truly a remarkable year full of growth and successes. Winning the spirit stick at Fall Rally, exceeding over 16 dues-paid clubs, and executing the most LIT DCM's in D15 history, are just a few of the amazing goals that LTG Ricky has accomplished for our division. It has been a pleasure serving you all as your Division Secretary this term and my favorite part about it all, was getting to witness firsthand all the things your respective clubs achieved throughout the year from reading your MRF's each month. From the beginning to the end of the term, I got to see the strengths and weaknesses of your clubs. And now that we are nearing the end of Division 15, the only thing we have left to do is carry on the legacy we left as D15! With that being said, I am SUPERRR excited to serve you southern lil giraffes as your Lt. Governor for Division 15 South and I already foresee a great year ahead all of us. I want to thank you all again for the past 3 years I've been apart of this division and for this past year serving as DSec. Thank you <33 In the spirit of service always, Michelle Ho

Division 15! This past term has definitely been among our best yet, with crazy-fun DCMs, incredible memory-making events, and amazing members, both old and new. It has been the utmost honor to have served as your executive assistant along with my most sus partner, Dylan, and from the bottom of my heart, I want to say thank you. Through all the memes, laughs, and service hours, our D15 ohana will never die. It's crazy to think that almost one whole year has gone past us, but I guess that's why they say that time flies when you're having fun. Hope to see you soon! Love, Grace Yang

"It's so bittersweet leaving Key Club and experiencing my "lasts" as a senior. Remembering the car washes we had and my final fall rally where we took the W, there are so many things I have gained and experienced that I wouldn't have ever imagined I could have experienced during my time in high school. Time goes by so fast and I want to leave with the advice of cherishing the moments you have with your closest friends and fellow members because they are so special and life-giving. As the end of the term comes closer, I want to say thank you to all of the members who have truly made an impact in my life and have inspired me to run for leadership positions and stay dedicated to Key Club when things got tough. D15 has blessed me beyond comprehension and I hope that many others would continue to be inspired to take risks and run for leadership positions and make a way for others to fall in love with Key Club. Being the super omega weeb that I am, I would like to say 'Sayonara' (goodbye) and 'ArigatĹ?gozaimashita' (thank you) for all that D15 has done and what D15N, D15S, and D15E will continue to do!" Love, Lyndsey Chu

As we near the final moments of the term, I would like to thank all of you. Division 15 has seen many great moments in this wonderful year of service, from wonderful DCMs to winning the spirit stick. We've served so many hours, painted so many posters, picked up so many pieces of trash, and saved so many lives. But all of this could not have been accomplished with the hard work and dedication we Giraffes have put in. To the members of Division 15, thank you. Key Club isn't Key Club without the members that serve our homes, schools, and communities. Your willingness to serve others, as well as your dedication and perseverance definitely make this world a better place. You all are so important and play a unique role in our division. The hours you put in and your selflessness make the division such a wonderful place to be a part of. To the officers, thank you. Your sacrifice and desire to serve those who serve others are what makes Key Club unique. Key Club is the largest student-led organization, and the work you put in help to establish that fact. To the wonderful DLT, I love you all! Don't forget to thank your lovely Kiwanians, as well as your family for taking you to events! My four years as a Key Clubber have left me with many unforgettable memories and friendships, as well as numerous pictures to remind me of them. Key Club has helped me grow so much personally, and I honestly don't know where I would be without the #giraffelove you all have shown me. I cannot thank you all enough for all that you have done for me. L-O-V-E, I love you, D-I-V! Yours in Service, Adriel Eje

To my beloved Division 15, We’ve come a long way! I have had the privilege of serving you all these past few months as Division News Editor and I am so proud of us and all of the great things we’ve accomplished this term. Each month, I find joy in submitting articles and visuals that display all of the wonderful things that you guys do for our community, from raising money for MNT and PTP to packaging food for families in need. I know that despite the recent split of the division, you will all continue to serve your communities passionately and whole-heartedly. I truly didn’t expect to gain the opportunity of working with the DLT and serving the division, but I am so grateful for the experience. I don’t know if any of y’all noticed (I REALLY hope you guys did LOL), but each month, at the end of the newsletter, I include a picture from a website called “The Motivating Giraffe.” Each picture has an encouraging quote and I hope that each saying has inspired you in some way. With that being said, here is my final Motivating Giraffe! I hope that this image motivates you to continue to live a life devoted to serving others. I hope that your time in Key Club leaves an imprint on your heart, pushing you to be a kind and caring person that is more than willing to help others. Share the love and be intentional and passionate about everything you do! Always Yours in Service, Gillian Day D15 News Editor 2016-2017
