HELLO FRIENDS!

01 - Message from the DNE

How is everyone feeling after Fall Rally South? This was my first ever time attending Fall Rally and it felt amazing connecting with new people across southern California, as well as experiencing strong emotions with our entire division! I am so proud of every single member who attended this amazing event— I still cannot believe we placed IN THE FINALS in the first ever term of the D15S matcha sheep! The amount of light green that filled up the theater was so unreal! For those who didn’t attend Fall Rally South, get ready for TONS of enjoyable events to come! There are so many opportunities waiting to connect with people and serve your community in Key Club— especially in a division such as this one.

I’ve seen members shine at in-person club events ranging from Prep Days, RTC, and the one and only Fall Rally South! You guys never fail to amaze me with your spirit, your love, and support for Division 15 South and it’s endeavors! Keep in mind that Division 15 South is still a BABY! In just a couple months, we blew all of our term goals AWAY and surpassing them with flying colors. Thank you so so much for showing your commitment to Key Club, for continuously being spirited, and always going above and BEEyond in your sheepie support! We still have 5 MONTHS left to the term!! CLUB UPDATES ELEANOR ROOSEVELT On Saturday, October 23rd, ERHS Key Club members were given the opportunity to volunteer at their city’s Halloween event to earn service hours! Volunteers worked different games/stations, such as hay maze, obstacle course, or haunted house with a partner, and mostly monitored and watched the kids as they placed in the jumpers, ran through the maze, or led them through the haunted house! This was a great opportunity for our members to earn a good amount of service hours, while also having fun serving for their community!

CENTENNIAL On October 18th, Centennial announced their newly elected Committee board. There were three new board members: Ronald Gomez (Fundraising Committee), Erik Perez (Webmaster Committee), and Gavin Tan-Torres (Service Committee). For the rest of their term, they will be working closely with their respective committee heads and their officer board to support officer/club tasks and work on their own projects!

CORONA Hello everyone! For November, we had a club meeting inside our college center classroom. In this meeting we discussed important information such as incoming events, as well as distributing our division t-shirts to our members who were not able to attend Prep Day #4!

7

NORCO In a meeting hosted in the beginning of November, members gained more knowledge of what their money is going towards such as memberships. They also gained more information on Fall Rally South. We were informed of what has been done to prepare for Fall Rally South and the requirements were mentioned again. Our president, Roxy Fisher, presented the agenda for November 13th and reminded the members of the forms we need to bring. We also received our t-shirts which turned out to be better than anticipated. While we had the members’s attention, we decided to remind them of our true purpose, to help our community. We talked of a community service event that was coming up soon and encouraged members to continue to participate. We wanted to thank the members in our community who have really helped us and impacted our lives in a good way. Our community service event involves the senior citizens in our community to make them feel as though they have not been forgotten. Overall, the meeting was a success as members gained access to more information and events that are coming up.

SANTIAGO

We had our first joint fundraiser with Corona Key Club on October 8th from 2pm to 10pm. This fundraiser was held at Ding Tea in Corona and we were able to raise $100 for PTP! The fundraiser was a huge success and we were able to grow our bond with Corona by working together and some of the officers from Santiago even had the chance to talk to one of Corona’s officers while at Ding Tea and overall it was a super fun event. We held this fundraiser to raise money for PTP and each club was able to donate $50 to PTP! Special shoutout to the Corona officers for working with us to make this event possible and thank you to everyone that came and supported!

Spotlight on Service Presents:

Providing Basic Needs Learn to use the month of giving to help your community!

RECAP ON WHAT SPOS IS

DECEMBER OVERVIEW

Spotlight on Service is a program created by the CNH Service Projects Committee to promote and encourage service initiatives across the district by providing monthly guides which showcase a new topic each month that will provide service project tips and ideas. This program provides opportunity for clubs to showcase their service events at a district level and have a chance to earn district recognition!

Tis’ the season to be giving back to your community! This December is an amazing month for being with family and friends, relaxing, and enjoying the last that this year has to offer! Don’t forget about giving back to those in need so they can have an enjoyable, comfortable holiday season as well! Please feel free to utilize this guide to help your club come up with event, service project, and fundraising ideas!

PROJECT IDEAS EVENT IDEA Answer A Child’s Letter to Santa Reach out to a local school or post office and adopt a child’s letter to Santa! With the letters you adopt, have fun and write back to them as Santa and buy them gifts! You can then return the gifts and letter to the post office or the school for Christmas Eve delivery from “Santa”. Help make a kid’s dreams come true this holiday season! SERVICE PROJECT IDEA Craft Day Hold a clothes drive to keep those in need warm and comfortable this cold, holiday season!! Choose a local shelter or organization and a place where the clothes can be dropped off! Think, a house, school, library, etc. This can also be considered as an event idea! FUNDRAISING IDEA Gift Wrapping Partner with a local mall or business and set up a gift wrapping service! Members can volunteer to wrap gifts for people for a donation. With the proceeds, donate to a local shelter, orphanage, or anywhere you choose This way members can earn hours and ensures everyone gets the opportunity to enjoy the holidays!

ED UC C A What is an LTG? or TI LTG, or Lieutenant Governor, is a Key Club student who O n overshadows an entire division! LTGS serve a division (D15S) er N and have duties at the district (CNH) level! Our current LTG is April Lonh from Centennial! Lieutenant Governors tend to have passion for serving their community, and being part of Key Club overall. They bring spirit into the game and are in charge of a Division Leadership Team to keep the division actively working!

How do I become LTG? The steps to becoming an LTG is a lengthy process... For starters, everyone who is interested in running for LTG must attend the Candidate Training conference! It is MANDATORY for all candidates looking to run for Lieutenant Governor. This conference informs of LTG’s behind the scenes, how to lead a division, what it means to be a liaison from the District to the Division, serving in a district committee, and much more! Speaking of becoming LTG, the Division 15 South LTG Interest Form is out NOW! Use tinyurl.com/d15ltgin22 before December 4th 11:59PM to learn more information on becoming LTG.

Ambreen Fahimullah

Hey Division 15 South Sheepies ! My name is Ambreen Fahimullah and I am a current Senior at Centennial High school! I also serve as your division tech editor this term. This is my third year as an active member in key club and it has been one of the best experiences of my highschool career. I love to read, watch movies, listen to music and hang out with friends. My favorite artist is Taylor Swift and I’m a really big fan of marvel movies :)

What motivates you to continue Key Club? I continue to do key club as it helps me feel apart of our community, seeing the way people reacts like our kiwanis advisors to our continued service helps me stay motivated :D I enjoy being able to make a small difference in my local community!

What was your Key Club moment? My key club moment happened during the last prep day before fall rally 2019. Our whole division had felt like a family and it was such an amazing experience that I will never forget. I remember feeling like part of a team and it is something I hold near and dear to my heart <3

Hillary Chau Hi my name is Hillary i’m from D15S :D fall rally was one of the most memorable and engaging events to happen in my high school career so far! i will never forget the friends i shared this day with! i look to many more years of fall rally and other Key Club events!

Ana Alacron

Fall Rally was really fun. I had fun with other members of key club and i loved the other divisions cheers. Overall Fall Rally was a really good experience.

Malina Padua

Fall rally was so much fun! Seeing all the other divisions was really eye-opening as some who just joined key club. I definitely want to go again!

Miranda Perales I am in Division 15 south’s key club at Norco high. Fall Rally South was full of so much life and a truly memorable experience. When you looked across all the bleachers you could see how hard each individual group worked to perform their cheers and overall FRS was a very fun event to be apart of. It was so much fun when other divisions would walk up to us and ask us how we feel.

Key Club International “Why Key Club” Videos are out now!

Elijah Puente and Noor Elhamouly, both District Governors, explain why they love Key Club!

From November 1-5, some random acts of kindness — complemented by thank yous to key players and members sporting the Key Club brand — made Key Club Week the best week of the year. The week gives club members the opportunity to share their love for Key Club by doing what they do best: giving their time, talent and voice to causes important to them.

For example,Three Key Clubs in Carter County, Tennessee, used Key Club Week to update their sponsoring Kiwanis club on their activities. The students described their service projects, including school and staff appreciation events, Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF endeavors and support for the local Ronald McDonald House. What did your club do for Key Club Week? Share your club’s story using the hashtag #KeyClubWeek. And remember, you don’t have to limit your kudos and kindness to Key Club Week!

PRESIDENT’S Centennial

Ellorie Mariano

AAAAAAAA! I can't believe Fall Rally is already over! :( Great job, D15S! It's our first year as a division, but we've managed to get 2nd place! I'm proud of all of you :D This was my last Fall Rally, so it has me in my feels just a bit. Special thank you to my Centennial Officer Board and Committee for helping me get through the setup process for Fall Rally! I couldn't have done it without you guys, and I appreciate you all so much. Shoutout to April and the rest of DLT for making this possible as well! We all worked so hard, and it finally paid off. I would like to thank all of you for the experience. Great job to all of the clubs for getting through Fall Rally season! I hope that now, you all can take a small break before delving back into future Key Club projects. Lastly, thank you to all of Division 15 South for being the way that you are. We really did that out there! I am so proud of you all, and I hope that you had a great time at Fall Rally. With that said, the future is looking bright for Centennial. Currently, we are focusing very hard on our Winter Festival, which will be held at the end of November. We recently also held a Nektar fundraiser. More events will be coming along the way, so be sure to stay tuned!

Corona

Madelynne Nguyen

Corona Key Club has had a great month! A few members repped our club at Fall Rally South, and showed lots of spirit! We are having a club meeting on November 19th, and are currently planning a December Movie Night Social, as well as an inter club spirit battle social.

hey sheepies !! so i always like saying that i fall in love with my club and division a little bit more as the months go bye, and this month with fall rally as stressful as it was it made me so happy to have an amazing officer board and members as all the stress that was put into fall rally payed off seeing all members that went get to enjoy and fall in love with keyclub all at their first fall rally. But now my officer board is working super hard to keep our members and let them experience all that we love about keyclub!! #gosheeps

Norco

Roxy Fisher

Hey Sheepies! Fall Rally South was so much fun!! Your spirit was amazing and it was incredible to see all of the districts together! While the other districts were great, D15 south was the best! This month Norco has started a service project of drawing for senior citizens.

Santiago

Nicole Hatton

Santiago has 4 service projects this month! There is a theatre production where members can help out with concession and greeting guests. I went to the last one and it was fun being able to volunteer with other key clubbers and we got to enjoy the show! Crossroads is also taking volunteers for their Turkey Trot so we are excited to help them out! We also have Kiwanis Krafts where members can make origami and/or cards for our Kiwanians because they are always so supportive and it is the SOSP of November. Our last service is Shave The Day which is an app members can download and it will donate money to help fight cancer. I’m really enjoying playing and knowing that I’m helping the community and it reminds me of subway surfers. We are planning to have a fundraiser at BurgerIM and pre plan for some other restaurant fundraisers. Besides those plans, we have also got a new advisor since our old advisor has been busy with other things. It is Mrs. Bertok and Mr. Bertok also looks after our club. They are so kind and our board is thrilled to have an advisor duo that can provide a lot for our club and is willing to dedicate more time to us. The rest of our club did not go to fall rally due to numerous technicalities and difficulties with chaperones, bussing, and other factors, but we have ideas on creating our own sort of spirit event with the other clubs that didn’t get to have all their members go from similar challenges. As for me, I really enjoyed seeing all the members passion during fall rally season and working with spirit team on the cheers and leading prep days. It takes me back to when I joined key club in the beginning. Even when we were all tired, seeing all the members and our teamwork really shined through and made it all worth it. The growth from our new division is truly incredible and I’m so honored to be part of the experiences I’ve had with new and old friends. Behind the scenes of all the events, I know that I am part of creating new memories for our members and I love participating in any key club events. I can’t wait for the rest of the term and creating even more special key club moments!
