Aloha Panda Bears!
Proudly Serving,
LTG’S MESSAGE
It's already been almost 4 months since this term started and I am super proud of all of you <3. Thank you everyone for staying so active within your clubs. Though this pandemic has taken a toll on many things like service, we still achieved to get 1000+ hours! We were one of the few divisions of CNH that was able to achieve this goal, and that is absolutely amazing. We also were able to have 100% of club MRF's submitted, so please thank and acknowledge your fellow secretaries. Keep being the best division that you always are. Acknowledge all the officer's, advisor's, and members' hardwork <3. As always, if you ever have any questions, comments, or concerns regarding your club or division, just send me an email :). I love you all and I hope you're staying safe and healthy!

EDITOR’S MESSAGE
Aloha Pandas! It’s officially the summer season and I hope you all are staying healthy and happy! Thank you for all staying passionate and determined for service this past month, and I hope that continues throughout the summer months. It may seem like everything is starting to slow down, but we can’t slow down on service! Since this term started, Division 28 East has already obtained over 1,000 service hours as a collective! Congratulations to all of you, whether you’re a member, officer, or advisor, and let’s keep going strong for this upcoming month. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, don’t be afraid to email me or any of the other DLT members! Continue to strive for greatness and I will talk to you all in the next issue of The Paw!
Serving with Passion and Pride,
Agustin Valdez

During the quarantine, my family and I had lots of spare time. Among all the options, one thing caught my eye was making dog toys from old t-shirts! I decided that it would be a good opportunity to spend my time wisely. I called some of my friends and DIY time started. We rumbled through our closet looking for old clothes that we couldn’t wear anymore and started cutting it into hundreds of little strips of various colors. We also improved on our braiding skills! Isn’t that a win-win during a time of unproductiveness? - Karen Meng, Coronado

With Valley Key Club, I am able to make more of a difference with the community! For instance the service event “Cleaning with a Meaning” as I walked around my neighborhood I was hurt to see the amount of trash laying around. No one really cared about it. It was time to make a change and to the harm it has been causing to the environment. Picking up trash has motivated me how our world needs much change before it’s too late. It was a great experience and to benefit from by knowing you are earning service hours too! Which is what Key Club is about! I can’t wait to help out more to our community in the near future! We must contribute to people that are here and will support us! Service is a spectacular opportunity and more people should do! - Aida Solano, Valley

During this event, I participated in making three cards for St. Rose Hospital. I still haven’t found time to send them to the corresponding address, but when I do, I will drop off the cards two St. Rose. Our Green Valley Key Club president, Isabelle Jones, will be in charge of collecting the cards to this address and providing them to the patients in the hospital. So far, there are not a lot of members sending out cards to this address or any visuals and experience from our members about how they managed to make the cards. - Kassandra Espinoza, Green Valley

Even through rough times during quarantine, my friend and I were able to brighten up our community just a little more. We wrote letters to our friends, family, and neighbors just to keep their spirits up even through quarantine. Just to be creative, I decided to make my letters look like those pirate treasure maps! To do so, I soaked some paper in some tea and dried it off before using a small torch lighter to burn the edges off a little. After that, I slipped on my mask and gloves and went to deliver the letters! - Rylie Vongsamphanh, Silverado
Making these letters was a fun and creative way to help our community. My sister helped me out as well! Instead of creating letters for people we already knew, we decided to try something new. We came up with a plan to make random letters of kindness and gratitude for random people instead. This consisted of messages like inspiring quotes and ideas of what our neighbors could do for activities at home. We added a lot of colorful details and spent about an hour or two on them. When finished, my sister and I went around the neighborhood and dropped the letters off at complete strangers’ houses. We also taped the envelopes instead of licking them for their safety (we are very considerate). - Angelina Walsh, Silverado
