A Word from Our
LTG !
hello seamonkeys! It’s February! We’re one month away from District Convention and we’re about to elect our new Lt. Governor for the 2013-2014 year. With all of these events coming, it’s important that your club gives ample time for closure and transition to new leadership. Your club should have already had club elections and started training these elects. It is important that officers are ready to hit the ground running once they are installed at District Convention! Along with proper training, club membership should start getting accustomed to the new leadership styles that each new board member has. Having the President-Elect help run the meetings (but not completely take the President’s obligation to run the meeting) can help them transition and get used to speaking in front of a crowd. Along with training new officers, this is a good time to start reflecting on the past year and all that your club has accomplished. The division has reached significant goals and achieved great things this year, and it’s important to realize how much your club has contributed to this great success. Reflect on all of your achievements, and use this reflection time to start planning how your club can grow and achieve more next year. Come up with new goals to keep your club growing! Lastly, make sure your club is registered and sent checks to the District Office with all proper paperwork to attend District Convention in Anaheim. It’s an unBEElievable experience, and I highly encourage everyone to attend. For more information on District Convention, feel free to check the CNH Cyberkey or ask me. That’s all for now, keep on pushing through these next few months and end the year strong! In service,
Johansen Pico Division 28 West Lt. Governor

ARTICLES Club Elections, Durango High School
We recently had our elections in Durango Key Club for 2013-2014. The nominees were: [left to right] Switt Jamjuntr (Vice President), Arvin Noel Maure (Historian), Jon Recario (Bulletin Editor), Christian Pascua (SAA), Brittany Yamashi Gomez (Secretary), (Jamie Wong (Treasurer), (Tiana Le (Event Manager), Gabrielle Leynes (Vice President), Jonathon Nhan (President). N/A Adrian Quitevis (SAA) .Right now, we are currently waiting for the results to be told at the next meeting. My election was another great year, well, my junior speech went horrible. At least I redeemed myself with this speech. I have learned many things and I am glad to be in Key Club. Running again for a different position will give me a better view on how we work things. I really hope we all made it.

Adopt-A-Family, Northwest CTA Our Key Club participated in Adopt a family in December. It was one of those life changing experiences you can’t explain unless you were there. Xavier and his mother had given a list of what they wanted for Christmas and our Key Club members got presents for them if they wanted to. As the time got closer to drop off the presents, I got excited. We wrapped the gifts met up with Jordan and Paula and then we were on our way. When we got there we were all so excited to meet the family we literally skipped there. We knocked and little Xavier whooshes open the door and he had the biggest smile on his face when he saw all the presents we had in our hands. It was one of the cutest moments I have experienced. When we placed all the presents around their tree, he was so excited. He hopped over to us and asked if we wanted to see his room. We all went in and he showed us everything in his room. We took pictures of him with his gifts along with his mom. We said thank you and your welcomes and then we were out the door. It was something small but made a big difference in his life and hopefully something he will always remember. I know I will.

Opportunity Village, Durango High School Opportunity Village was another great event. We already knew what we were going to do because during the summer, we actually had this event many times (all in which were successful, fun, and helpful). Giving to the community is the greatest feeling in the world. Seeing them appreciate us was all the reward we could ask for. Packing items are nothing compared to a disability. We go to this event many times to help out. On their website, it is called “Las Vegas’ Favorite Charity”, and it is true. They create many events and love Durango. I wish to continue this event for a while.
