LETTER TO DIVISION 28 WEST Hey Division 28! The term is almost over, and I am very excited to serve as Division 28 West’s Lieutenant Governor for the upcoming term! I am always amazed at what key clubbers can do when we work together to serve the community. Keep up the good work and take care of yourselves. District Convention is coming up. I hope to see many members attending to honor and say goodbye to the previous board while saying aloha to the new board. Don’t hesitate to contact me or the current board with any questions, comments, or concerns!

Serving under moonlight,

Ritchie Paek

LETTER TO DIVISION 28 SOUTH My name is Nicole Kim, and I can say with the widest smile possible that I am absolutely thrilled to have the honor of serving Division 28 South as the 2017-2018 Lieutenant Governor! I nostalgically think back to middle school, where I would hear about Key Club from friends and their older siblings, looking forward to the fun cheering and hang outs I would be apart of, yet not truly being able to understand how amazing it really is. One of my fondest memories is my first meeting as a mere freshman standing amongst a crowd of new faces in a room I barely managed to find, anticipating what Key Club would really be like. It was this very meeting in which the seeds of service rooted deep in my heart. These seeds would bloom and blossom over time as I continue to serve my community and create memories I cherish for a lifetime. The abounding passion I have for this organization is never ending and only continues to grow as I fall deeper and deeper in love with the service, members, and the division I call home every single day. I’m excited to serve all of you!

Shining With Seamonkey Spirit,

Nicole Kim

Chinese new year festival

“This was my fourth year volunteering at the Chinese New Year Festival, and I can honestly say it presents new challenges and memorable moments to me each year. This year, I volunteered for both the set-up and actual festival. I’ve never volunteered during the festival, so it was a fun experience for me. I spent the morning helping vendors unload their things and spent my evening selling soda and water for Key Club. My friend Michelle and I gave out fortune cookies to little kids who accompanied their parents to our booth, and it was the cutest thing to see their smile afterwards! The Chinese New Year Festival is a great example of having fun while doing service. Seeing all the performances from our booth was the perfect way to pass time, and being able to experience all the food from different restaurants was a great way to spend our break time! I definitely recommend future Key Club members, and current ones, to volunteer at the festival next year!” - Shalini Jayaweera Ed W Clark

“The Chinese New Year Festival was really a great experience. I've never attended in past years and it was interesting to see what it was like. I got to work the ticket booth and I really enjoyed it. I got to peel paper and count money. The lady working there even asked me if the change was correct. That was pretty funny. But I think it was the perfect job for me because I'm quite fast at counting money and all. I also got to see some old friends, which was very cool! Overall, I think it was a really fun experience. I never thought I would see some old friends there but I did! It also gave me lots of experience for next time, so that I know what to do. I really did enjoy it while it lasted and I can't wait for the Japanese festival! - Katlin Zhou Ed W Clark

DANCE MARATHON

LVDM17 was one for the books! I remember my freshman year was the first ever Dance Marathon for CMN. Very little clubs were involved because it was new, but now so many schools look forward to this event every year. It was amazing to have seen DM go from 100-300 participants to almost over 1000 people! Not only that, but the amount of donations that’s being raised is astonishing! DM is the place to be yourself and meet new people. What I loved best about DM was the non-stop dancing, the performers, the open mic, and hearing these kid’s stories. We danced for them because they are not able to, and seeing them smile because of it is so heart warming and pushes myself, and hopefully others, to give back to the community. Thank you NWCTA key club for showing me a good time at DM. Also, congrats to NWCTA HHC for killing it on stage! I am immensely proud for how much that club has improved! If you ever just want to have a day out with friends and vibe together, then I highly recommend attending Dance Marathon; you're giving back and throwing it back all at the same time! - Jana Alindog NORTHWEST CTA
