THE EDITOR
Hello everyone! My name is Lenise, and I am beyond excited to serve as your Division News Editor for the 2015-2016 term! I am extremely eager to begin working along side the Division Leadership Team, and with our LTG, Aaron Quiamzon. I currently attend Ed. W. Clark High School in the class of 2016. I look forward to getting to know more of you through out this Key Club year! Summer is quickly approaching, and you know what that means- FINALS! I wish you all the best of luck on studying! Don't forget that this summer will also be filled with SERVICE! Take this summer break to really spend time giving back to the community. Make sure you watch out for your club's summer events! You know what else will be taking place during the summer? ICON! International Convention will be held in Indianapolis from June 24th to June 30th! This is definitely a great opportunity to learn about Key Club International and I highly recommend attending. If you have any questions regarding ICON, contact your club officers or your LTG, Aaron Quiamzon! Once again, it is an honor to serve you all! I hope that I will be able to be closer to more of you this year!

Letter from the LTG Hello Seamonkeys! Can you believe it’s been over 2 months since our term has started? Time is going by very quickly, meaning we must continue serving to the best of our ability! You all never fail to mesmerize me with your enthusiasm for service and outstanding leadership potential. Each club in this division is so special and unique, and I could not be happier to serve you all. It fills me with so much joy to see how much progress each of you is making. We can only grow from here! Utilize this summer to continue serving your homes, schools, and communities. There’s a lot to do, so let’s get to work! There are so many upcoming events, including the Division Dodgeball Tournament on May 23rd, so there is always something to look forward to! I will be attending Spring Board Training Conference with the rest of the CNH District Board this weekend and I look forward to bringing back the many things I will learn. Until then, I wish you all luck with upcoming finals testing. Remember that the Division Leadership Team and I are always here to serve you! Thank you and happy reading! In Service and friendship, Aaron Quiamzon

Relay for Life
May 1st, 2015
West Youth
On May 1st, Desert Oasis’s Key Club attended Relay for Life West at Spring Valley High School. According to the American Cancer society website, Relay all started back in 1985 when Dr. Gordy Klatt circled around the track at Baker Stadium at University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington. Today, Relay for Life is one of the biggest service events that gathers many Key Clubbers from District 28 West. Not only Key Clubbers went to this annual event but some other organization like National Honor Society was able to attend. As it was my first time going, I was very thrilled to be there with the other members to fundraise for this organization. Many clubs participate to fundraise for the organization by selling food and drinks like spam musubi and boba. There were many friendly activities that were played like soccer and volleyball. Plus there were amazing performers like a dance team and a band that really entertain and bring out the lively atmosphere. When it hits 9:00, all fun has paused to bring serious attention to why we were all there for to support the cause. Fellow Key Clubbers from Clark HS had a little speech about a school administrator that had past away that day due to cancer. During the Silent Lap, the ending song to Fast & Furious 7 “See You Again” was playing. Through the lap, many people have thought of someone or a loved one that is diagnosed or have passed away to cancer. It was a very memorable event and I’m looking forward to attend Relay next year. Tour de Summerlin Rest Stop
The Tour de Summerlin was a spectacular day! Jennifer, the president, had invited me to go and I am glad she did. We helped the Pancreatic Cancer Network at the rest stop for bikers that they have every year. I had an amazing time because I got to meet interesting people that were participating at the bike run. When we first arrived, we help set up all the tents and prepare the drinks. We were also ringing cowbells and I felt the excitement of the competitors as we were going so. It was a great way to encourage them since some bikers had rode over 25 miles of the race.I liked the spirit of the bikers and excitement from the bikers, although their journey was exhausting they still wore a kind smile and continued to finish the race. Froyo 5k
Froyo 5k was a fun filled local event to volunteer for. Our members crowned runners with medals as they reached the finish line, assisted and served hungry runners at the frozen yogurt station, and cleaned up after this sweet event. It was a super sweet day for service. Kirsten Mauban Desert Oasis Key Club

Conference
OTC was a fun experience. First I was wondering how I was going to get into contact with other schools. When I heard about OTC I was relieved. Ray showed many detailed slides that gave me more information about being a treasurer. Also I got to meet other treasurers from other clubs. John Paul Avenido Vice President of Fundraising SWCTA
Second Annual
Clark Basketball Tournament
The Basketball Tournament made it second return this year, and I could not have been any more excited for it! Last year was the first time it was ever run, so it wasn’t really the smoothest or calmest thing to control. But this year, the players knew the ropes, and it made for a really challenging atmosphere, which actually made it more fun! You could really feel the competition in the air with each game; each and every player on each and every team were playing their hearts out (and then there was Ken’s team). Aside from the action on the court, there were also some other Key Clubbers in the bleachers who came out to support the players (shoutout to Edward Xiong for winning the Most Spirited Award). After through many hard-fought games, only Anu’s and Charles’ teams remained. While I can’t say that the final game was a close game, I can say that it definitely left everyone watching speechless. Congratulations to Charles for winning the tournament two years in a row! I can’t wait for this event to come back next year, and who knows what surprises it will come with! Robe Bautista
