Welcome to summer! Hello seamonkeys! I hope you all are having a fantastic summer so far! can you believe that june is almost over? eventhough summer is blazing by, please remember to keep service in mind. summer is a great time to get a head start on your service hours to ensure you have enough hours to be inducted, so make sure you look out for all the service events your club has to offer this summer. speaking of events, don’t forget about the july and august dcm! these two dcm’s will be special because it will be for all of division 28 (north, south, and west!). here, you will get the opportunity to really meet the other lieutenant governors and other key clubbers in las vegas! also, at these dcm’s, members who attend will get to see a sneak peak at next year’s rtc! now, we all know about this las vegas weather, so i hope you all stay safe, cool, and hydrated this summer! it won’t stay this warm for long, so make sure you create great memories with friends and family around the pool or at the park during this break.

forever in service, Lenise Wu

from the

LTG

Happy summer, seamonkeys!

I hope your summer break has been productive and fun so far. Although we are already one-third of the way done, we still have two more months to make it last! Utilize this free time to try and attend more service events, plan fundraisers, and become more active as a Key Club member. As we draw near to the beginning of the school year, it is also important to start thinking about member recruitment. If your school hosts a freshman orientation, try to attend and give the incoming freshmen an idea of what Key Club does! I would be more than happy to attend as well. Hopefully you all have a nice, relaxing rest of your break, but do not forget about Key Club! Service is year-round and it is definitely a great way to spend your summer. Until next time, happy reading seamonkeys! Remember that I am always here for help and guidance whenever you need it.

in service and friendship,

Aaron Quiamzon

SERVICE IN THE SUMMER Although school may be over, service in Key Club never goes out of season! With school out of the way, Key Clubbers have more time to go out and make a difference in the community. Doing service over the summer allows you to get out of the house to enjoy some sun, and bond with your fellow members. School out of session does not mean taking a break from Key Club, but rather taking on the endless service opportunities available all summer. Attending more service events and doing more service projects during the time off from school benefits you as a Key Club member and to BEEcome a student leader!

LeEl Up ExO Durango Key Club

On the weekend to conclude May, the Durango Key Club volunteered at the Level Up Expo, a major convention for games, anime, and technology. From running around the convention to help booths in need, to just sitting and helping out those at events like the Pokemon tournament, the clubbers not only got to help at a major event, but also had a lot of fun at a convention! The event lasted the whole weekend, and a variety of hours and positions were taken by those capable. One of the biggest events, as mentioned above, that our club aided with was the Pokemon tournament. Many helped attendees sign up, spread the word, and a few with the knowledge and luck even got to play as ‘Team Rocket’; the enemy of the anime/game! Aiding others and expecting nothing in return as well as socializing and having fun are a huge goal of our club, and by that criteria the Expo was an immeasurable success.

Children’s Activists at Americans Patriots Festival The American Patriot fest was my favorite event to volunteer at. The celebration was for all veterans. We appreciate everything they have done for our country and we honored their devotion to serve. The festival had games for the kids, a dog show for the family's, food and drinks for everyone, and a BMX show for the boys. It hands done beat the other events. I got to see the smiles on people's faces when I handed out food. My fellow key club members that went would agree that is was a fun experience. -Nicole Corbin

second division 28 west dod

annual dgeball tournament

special thanks to west and centennial for hosting this event!

West CTA Key Club had the pleasure of co-hosting the second annual Dodgeball Tournament with Centennial Key Club to end the school year. I enjoyed seeing so many members from Division 28 West come together to not only play some dodgeball and bond, but also to help raise money for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. We raised over $500 that will go to increasing awareness about the hospitals, medical research, and overall saving a child's life. I loved seeing the spirit the division showcased at the tournament as well. Shoutout to Clark High School for winning the spirit trophy second year in a row! Also a congratulations to Southwest CTA for winning the tournament. I hope everyone had a great time, and I am already excited for the next dodgeball tournament. -Kristen Canlas West CTA

The dodgeball tournament was awesome! It was a really great way to bond with other Key Clubbers from all across our division and to help out The Children's Miracle Network. Even though we didn't win, I'm sure that everybody had a great time. I really encourage everybody to attend next year. Whether you're cheering or playing, it's a great experience! -June Kim Ed. W.
