Assisting & distributing to the needy Helping the Methodist Church hand out food for the needy was a great and fulfilling experience! The food was good quality and there was so much to give to the people who needed it. Seeing the faces of elderly and youthful folks alike at the plenitude of food choices was a great feeling. We either helped keep the tables packed with food or personally helped visitors with carrying all the food through the line and to their cars. One of my favorite things about the event was that the volunteers and visitors knew each other, so everyone was smiling, cracking jokes, and just having a pleasant time. The place cleared out in 2 hours, but not before I personally got talk to some great and interesting people while they gathered their food items. Even the staff running the food giveaway were pleasant and very cool to work with. I’m really glad that I was exposed to the experience because I had never been to a church before! It was cool to see how they’re set up and the types of people who go there, and how happy they are regardless of their circumstances.

Ronald McDonald house

“The Ronald McDonald House is this event where we cook for the families of sick children that come to the house from other places, like California. It is a really fun event and I like it. I learned how to cut chicken, and it was fun!” - JACK PHAM, Ed W Clark At the Ronald McDonald House, we get to cook for families of children who are sick and can’t afford to stay in hotels or places like that. It’s really fun, we get to cook, and who doesn’t love that? - EVONIE VILLARETE, Ed W Clark “The Ronald McDonald event is definitely really helpful and is a good experience for everyone. I would definitely recommend it to everybody, to try and get active with the community and everyone in Key Club. It’s a great experience! - JOHANNA COHEN, Ed W Clark

KIWANIS FIREWO

RKS BOOTH!!!

Kiwanis Fireworks Booth

“Assisting at the fireworks was intimidating at first. Upon on arriving l was greeted by two women who made the experience not so bad. We were put to work by holding and flipping a sign to promote the firework sale. Volunteering with my friend Frida made it fun. We were given a break every once in a while to drink water and talk with the Kiwanis members there. The two hours of helping went by quick. Overall it was fun and a good experience!
