EDITOR'S NOTE Happy Summer!!

EM I

I've been spending my summer just relaxing and spending time with friends. But sooner or later I've gotta start on that summer homework and college apps :( I've also been finally starting on building my first custom mechanical keyboard. I decorated my water bottle and it is FILLED with all my collected lavender llama stickers. Make sure to go to the June DCM because it's hosted by my amazing RAN T Y home club! And you get to L pie people, who wouldn't want that?? Warm Wishes,

Emily Tran

I hope you all had a great end to your school year and an even greater start to your summer! Although the hot weather has me beat, I've been keeping myself AB RIELA TA busy by getting back into crocheting, watching Ultimate Spider-Man, and, of course, doing Key Club. Make sure that all of you take this summer to relax and refresh after our first school year in person in over a year! I'm so excited for Key Club this summer! I hope you all are as excited as I am and are prepared for all the fun activities we have in store! Our upcoming R9 Olympics will be so amazing with a full day in the sun with the other four divisions in our region! Put yourself out there and get to know other Key Clubbers in our region! You never know what amazing connections can be made!! Have a great summer, Llamas! And have fun reading this month's newsletter, made by our very own DNE Emily Tran!! <3

ARTICLES Lunch Making with Kiwanis

&

Kathy Wong San Leandro

SLKC members went to Amador High School in Pleasanton on May 14th to help the adult Key Club, Kiwanis, make and pack lunch for the special olympics. Members assembled PB&J sandwiches and packed them in lunch bags while getting to know the Kiwanis members. The special olympics were held at the same time, outside the gym in which we were making lunch for. After we finished making lunch, the members spent time together at the event. We watched Amador’s jazz band perform and walked downtown to get ice cream! It was a great way for members to bond and introduce themselves to the Kiwanis.

Save the Crabs Ava Schiraga Encinal On the 15th of May, Encinal Key Club partnered with Alameda Key Club. We met at Crab Cove and cleaned the beach from 1 to 3. During the event members from both clubs cleaned up the beach and surrounding areas. It was fun to bond with the Alameda Key Club members, and everyone had a great time. Nine members showed up, which is an improvement from our events last month. We collected lots of trash, and plan to do more beach clean ups in the future. We would also love to partner with Alameda again, as well as other Key Clubs.
