ltg's welcome

Greetings My Little Llamas! I hope you are all doing well! It's definitely getting colder outside so make sure you get all your warm cozy stuff out and ready! I can't believe we are almost done with the year. It has definitely been quite a stressful time but I am so glad that you are all still here spreading kindness to our community! Although it was all virtual, I am so grateful for all the memories we have made together for the past 7 months. It has really been my honor to serve as your Lt. Governor and I am very excited to see the other things we can accomplish during the next few months together. I encourage you all to take this moment to appreciate everything around you. The past months have definitely been stressful for me and again, it made me realize how much of life we actually miss when we are so invested into one thing. No matter where you are right now, just know that there are so many little things in life that can make you happy! Try to make the best out of your daily life because you can only live today once! Remember that I am always here for you all so please feel free to reach out whenever you need someone to talk to! I appreciate everything that you do and please never forget that it is always a good day to serve others! This concludes my little note for you, happy reading and I hope you enjoy this month's division newsletter! Let your LIGHT shine, Jarlene Clavido Division 2 South Lieutenant Governor 2020-2021

editor's note

Hello Lavendar Llamas! Can you believe it's already November? It's already getting colder and we're transitioning into winter. It's been just about under 8 months since we first started quarantine. I hope you all are continuing to stay safe and social distance. Experiencing this school year virtually has opened my eyes to the important virtues that I hold dear to myself. Although we are deprived of "the normal high school experience," we have all grown immensely throughout this experience. However, there is no doubt that this experience has been extremely hard to adapt, especially now as things are becoming stagnant, it seems like every day is the same day, and we're in the same cycle but understand everything will be okay. Key Club has been providing many events and has created a space for all of us to bond with one another despite not being able to see one another in person. Attending Key Club's events have helped me seek a unique community in the midst of the pandemic. I hope you enjoy this month's newsletter and continue to stay dedicated to your school work and extracurriculars. See you in the next issue! With a Passion to Serve, Claire Liang Division 2 South News Editor 2020-2021

Ashley Bernados ARROYO We chose this officer to be Arroyo's officer of the month because with all the events being planned and with club rush, she has been working hard to make all the flyers. She also has been working on merchandise ideas and designs aside from the flyers as well.

Jennifer Guan KIPP KING Jennifer is OoM because of her willingness to connect to other schools and create many interclubs for our club. Her social skills has helped our club thrive. Even though she is under more pressure as our president, she still checks in on her board members which demonstrates kindness and leadership!

Darleene Nguyen LPS HAYWARD This officer was nominated as our club's Oom because of her significant work and dedication as an officer in our club. She has assured of fulfilling her role as Vice President of Membership, by bringing in new members as the new freshmen during Club Fair and we've gotten so much more members with her support.

f the the month month

Kim Lund SAN LEANDRO Kim Lund has been very motivated the past month. Although September has been really slow for Key Club in general, Kim still does her best to stay connected with her members and officers. She has also been focusing on helping her co-officers by having one-on-one meetings with them and checking up on everyone. Lastly, Kim was able to think of new events for SLKC even during this tough time.

Fiona Chen SAN LORENZO Fiona has continued to do her part and has racked a huge amount of hours. She always goes to division events and other club's events to support and grow her connection with Key Club. She enjoys taking part in events and learning more about Key Club. She has been very supportive and contributed to the growth of San Lorenzo Key Club.

Kipp King In the month of September, Kipp King continued Free Rice, Charity Miles, and BeanBeanBean. Additionally, we had 2 interclub events. The first one was a BeanBeanBean tournament with SL. Next we made Cards for Hospital Patients while watching Legend of Korra with SLZ. For the month of October, we will continue Free Rice, Charity Miles, and BeanBeanBean. Also might have some more interclub.

LPS Hayward During September, Key Club was able to do a lot, from hosting events to attending RTC. LPS key club was also able to host a meeting where board members could introduce themselves to general members, introduce the club to them, and what the club stood for and what it does to help the community. LPS Keyclub was also planning a Club bonding event where members would play the game Among Us.

San Leandro For the month of September, SLKC has hosted 4 Zoom service events, 2 being interclubs! As a club we wrote on post-its to stick to our mail boxes, to spread positivity to the mail carriers! We also combined forces with KIPP King Key Club to host a BeanBeanBean Tournament, where the winner would get free boba! Overall this month was yet again another successful month, and we are excited for the months to come!

San Lorenzo This month we were able to host 6 at home events and work with several different schools to host interclub events! We have been working hard to create new events that will get our members involved and hopefully attract new members to join our Key Club family! We hope to see our member participation continue to increase in the next month. We also hope to continue hosting interclub events in order to meet new people and increase member participation! Overall the month of September was very productive and we will all continue to work hard to ensure that this productivity and hard work continues!

Legend of Korra

— Card Making

In the month of September, Kipp King co-hosted the service event Legend of Korra + Card making with SLZ. At the service event members made cards for Hospital patients. While making the cards, members from Kipp King and SLZ were able to bond with watching the Nickelodeon show Legend of Korra. This was a great event because we hopefully gave the hospital patients a bit of joy reading the letters. We will continue to host events like this because we can help out our community while still being able to bond with our fellow key clubbers.

September Submission In the month of September, the LPS Key Club was able to have many events, Some were continuations of previous months events, and some were brand new events. In September, Key Club had a few continuation events from last month, such as the charity mile event in which every mile a club member ran, walked, or biked would equal one service hour. The second event was a continuation event from the prior months called Free Rice, where members could help end world hunger by answering questions. Another event that LPS Key Club had that was a brand new event for the month of September was an event called BeanBeanBean, which was an event that had the same premise as the Rice event but instead of donating rice for answering every question, it would have donated money to those in need. Something else that we did in September was that we teamed up with the LPS student government to host a bake sale where 15 percent of Key club shares would go towards PTP.

September Article

In the month of September, officers and members of Division 2 South attended the annual Region Training Conference where Key Clubbers came together and attended workshops. During RTC, groups were made and named after various Nintendo characters and competed against each other during the “campfire." During the "campfire," Key Clubbers participated in mini games. This event was a huge success where over 500+ Key Clubbers attended.

Cards and Korra! This month of September our club continued to host fundraisers and events from home! One of our most popular events this month was an event we hosted with Kipp King Key Club where we had a Legend of Korra watch party while making cards to send to hospital patients! This event allowed members from our club to interact with Kipp King students all while having fun and doing a kind gesture for someone in need! We were very happy with the turn out of this event and are proud to say that it was a success! We know this month has been very stressful for a lot of students and this was a perfect event for members to relax and have fun! We look forward to hosting more interclub events with different schools in the future!
