The annual Color Splash DCM was a fun way to meet new people and old friends across Region 2. We made cards for our Kiwanis and showed our appreciation for the work they have done this term. We played Huggy Bear and eventually did the color splash portion of the DCM. Everyone was brightly colored and we all took photos to show the great time everyone had! -Nick Oligo DLA Service Coordinator

08 | SPOTLIGHT ON SERVICE: COMMUNITY OUTREACH
club spotlight: escondido At iHOP Pancake Day, many Key Clubbers came by to encourage customers to donate to Rady’s Children Hospital. It was a delightful experience- many generous souls going out of their way to support the fundraiser. Through brief conversations, customers expressed their gratitude towards the hospital with an occasional story about broken bones here and there. The staff were all very pleasant to work with as we exchanged light hearted jokes to one another. It was also very heartwarming to see so many people show some love towards the hospital and Children’s Miracle Network. And in all seriousness, who would miss the chance to get free pancakes? It was enjoyable experience to say the least. Through everyone’s joint effort, the day concluded with our hearts content and stomachs filled. -Alyssa Jacob EHS Secretary Elect
09 | CLUB SPOTLIGHT: ESCONDIDO
club spotlight: san marcos
This year’s Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast in San Marcos was one for the books! They had a tremendous turnout with members from SMHS and MHHS Key Club, Future Farmers of America, JROTC, and the Boy Scouts of America. They all worked together to help the efficiency of the pancake distribution. Members in Key Club were responsible for waiting attendees and restocking any low materials (i.e. butter, creamer, sugar, etc). The number of people who showed up was immense and kept the members busy by getting their drink orders. Attendees also participated in multiple raffle events held by the community’s business. Members were also treated by meeting the Mayor of San Marcos and free all-you-can-eat pancakes! -Sofia Nawaz D37E Division News Editor
