WHAT’S STINGING JELLIES! Welcome to the first edition of THE STING and the 2021-2022 term! If you don’t know me already my name is Irma, a current junior attending Del Lago Academy. This term I will humbly bee-serving you as your Lieutenant Governor. During my freetime I enjoy painting, watching movies, hanging out with friends, and taking naps as much as I can! This past term has been such an amazing and new experience. We served during global a global pandemic & were able to help our communities the best we could. Now that the we have concluded the 2020-2021 term. I’m so excited to see what the future 2021-2022 holds for us. Some of my goals this term include 55 MRP recipients, $3,500 funds raised for PTP, 300 dues paid members, and 5,800 service hours! All of which you can find on page 6! It has been so amazing to learn about each club & president. We are all in the learning process and I can’t wait to see how far we’ll go. This term I challenge you to step out of your comfort zone & try new things! Whether that be talking to new people or participating in more events! I myself will try my best to talk to more members, Connect with each school, but most of all bond! As I am a bit of the awkward shy type of person >-< So say hi to me, please! I hope you enjoy this months edition! Irma Zacarias Lieutenant Governor

5800 service hours

Our service hour goal for this term is 5,800 hours. A bit higher than what we served this term! But I wholeheartedly believe that we can reach this goal! By implementing new service projects ideas and division wide events!

Funds for charity!! Let’s raise as much as we can this term & make the most out of the opportunities we have. Every penny counts!

300 dues paid members

300 dues paid members seems ambitious right? I know! But if anyone can do it, it’s US. I believe that each club can have 30+ dues paid members

YOU deserve to be recognized for your hard work! This term I would like each club to have at least 8 MRP recipients. As long as we all push and work hard it is definitely possible!

My experience volunteering cleaning up the children’s museum was a heartwarming one. I always see the children’s museum when I’m out in the community and it’s been a known place if you live in Escondido. One of the things I did was paint the entry fence that looks out onto the street, which was fun on its own, but now everytime I drive past it, I think in my head that I helped paint it, which feels kind of nice (:

MHHS Key Club participated in a service project in May honoring the mothers from MHHS & those in Elderly homes, in Oceanside. We made origami hearts with messages inside to show our support & love for the mothers who help out at our school and in our community each day. We really appreciate all of their commitment, love, having a fun and crafty service project to show our appreciation was a plus! I myself, the historian of MHHS Key Club, really enjoyed the social aspect of our May service project. Making the hearts was easy and simple seeing as the Sydney Stebins | 10th Mission Hills | Historian board provided a short tutorial for us to watch, in order to aid the members in completing the project. Listening to disney music together and chatting as we created the hearts made the experience so much more worthwhile. This service project was truly a great experience for both myself and the club as a whole. We got an overwhelming amount of submissions and our box for collecting the hearts was full! Overall, I really enjoyed the quality time I was able to spend not only with the board, but with some of the members during our time creating the origami hearts. It warms my heart to know that the mothers receiving our hearts will have a smile on their face when they open them up to receive the message inside. This was an amazing opportunity and I will definitely be interested in participating in one similar in the future!
