WHAT'S POPPING, JELLIES? Welcome to the October newsletter! October brings lots of new opportunities school and social wise. As far as school goes, you have the return of standardized testing, college applications, and homecoming of course! For Key Club, we have Fall Rally South approaching plus tons of service events. I advise you to stay organized with your schedule, as the tasks will start to pile up. This can be an overwhelming and challenging job- it is for me at least! To anyone who may be struggling with this task, feel free to reach out for help! I’ve spent the last two weeks experimenting with implementing new habits into my routine. Adding new habits at the beginning of the semester will be much easier than trying to implement them later in the year, so start early! Remember it is always better to get your work done sooner and later; maintaining your grades starting now will be a great advantage as the class starts to get more vigorous. Please be sure to take loads of breaks and take time to relax as well- your mental health is key to doing well! As always, set a goal for yourself, Jellies! Personally, I want to be more productive and work on my excessive procrastination >.< Whatever your task may be, keep yourself accountable to a reasonable extent. I wish you the best of luck; see you next time!

LETTER FROM THE
D37E LTG HAPPY SPOOPY SEASON, JELLIES!
October is finally here and you know what that means-it's fall! The autumn leaves mark the beginning of one of the most exciting (and busiest) times of the year, With pumpkin patches, fall festivals, and endless Key Club activities, there are so many opportunities for you to get out there, meet new people, and create unforgettable memories. This month also brings Region Training Conference and Fall Rally Season. If you do not know, Region Training Conference (RTC) and Fall Rally Season (FRS), are two of the biggest events of the term and I highly encourage you to attend both! RTC and FRS were the two events that made me realize how diverse Key Club truly is and everything it has to offer you (hint: there is something for everybody!) To find out more about RTC and FRS, please check your emails for messages from the Division Google Reflector and your home club, as well as our division social media platforms. With so much happening all at once, please don't forget to take care of yourself. Whether you're stressed about college applications or upcoming tests, just know that with proactive planning and a healthy mindset, you can get through anything. You got this-I believe in you! If you need to, don't feel guilty about taking a few breaks every now and then-your wellbeing is the most important! Thank you for all you do to serve your homes, schools, and communities. I hope you have a spooktacular month and I look forward to seeing you all at RTC and FRS very soon!

SPIRIT NIGHTS + FRS WITH SPIRIT NIGHTS COMING UP, AND FALL RALLY SOUTH FOLLOWING, THIS WOULD BE A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO REFRESH OUR MINDS WITH WHAT EXACTLY SPIRIT NIGHTS AND FALL RALLY ARE. HERE IS A BRIEF REMINDER: WHAT IS IT? For the Spirit Nights, this is when our division meets and bonds while also reviewing the new cheers to use at FRS. This is also an amazing opportunity to get to know your fellow Jellies and get hyped for Fall Rally. Fall Rally South is the annual meet up in Six Flags Magic Mountain every November where Key Clubbers from SoCal, Nevada, and Hawaii mingle, bond, and raise money for their preferred charity! Fall Rally is filled with high schoolers covered head to toe in their division’s spirit wear, cheering on in spirit battles against other divisions. There really is no other Key Club experience that feels the same as Fall Rally. WHEN IS IT? Although our first official Spirit Night was September 21, we have plenty of more coming up this month! As for Fall Rally, it will be held November 9th. Your club presidents will have loads of information to give you about timings, locations, and transportation as the date approaches nearer. WHAT TO BRING? For Spirit Nights, wear your best spirit wear along with anything else specifially needed for that night. For Fall Rally, it would be a good idea to bring a jacket, extra cash, and remember to be decked out in spirit wear!

CLUB SPO SAN MARCOS - NCHS BACK TO SCHOOL BASH One of our members volunteering at the North County Health Services (NCHS) Back to School Bash. This event hosted by NCHS was a health fair at the San Marcos Boys and Girls Club that included produce distribution, information on health resources, free screenings and live music! After setting up the different stations, San Marcos Key Club specifically volunteered with the food distribution team where members managed handing out waters, popcorn, carrots, and bell peppers. This was a great opportunity for the members to meet local families that come to NCHS often and gain assistance on improving their health care. Some Key Clubbers even used their Spanish speaking skills from school in order to communicate with Hispanic patrons. Following a long day of produce distribution, Key Club packed up the canopies and tables to conclude the event.

TLIGHTS MISSION HILLS - TWIN OAKS RENOVATION During the Twin Oaks Elementary Renovations, we had a total of 9 members attend. Firstly, we began with taking out the books from the shelves. Then, we took the time to wipe down each book to clean off the dust and dirt. After, we dried each book before further cleaning them. By using an air machine, we were able to blow air to remove the dust from the sides of the pages. Lastly, we put the books neatly back into the shelves for the students. Our members had a great time making sure the students had clean books to read before the school year started! - AUDREY SANTANDER

CLUB SPO ESCONDIDO - INTERFAITH SANDWICH MAKING For our first service event to kick off the school year, we hosted a sandwich making for Interfaith! It was a bit last minute, and so the invitation was only open to officers since we didn't have time to post about it on our club instagram. But, between the 9 of us we were able to make about 125 sandwiches in under an hour!! For our next sandwich making, we hope to promote it on our IG and remind so we can hopefully boost our attendance from 9 to (possibly) 40!

TLIGHTS D37E CLUB RUSH/FIRST MEETINGS EHS's Club Rush this year was held Aug. 23 during lunch. We prepared a very informational trifold to recruit members and dressed up in our jellyfish gear in order to incite people to join Key Club. We also handed out pamphlets that were provided to us from our Kiwanis Advisor (shoutout to Randy!). In total, we got got 94 sign-up, 94!!! I think some of our main goals this year will be to provide a lot of community service events to members, member retention, and making sure we get a lot of members pay their dues!

At our first meeting of the school year, we had over 80 people attend! We first had everyone come into the designated room where the meeting was being held. As people were walking in, our board members greeted and thanked them for attending. The meeting started with the board members introducing themselves and what position they have in the club. Our president and VP of Admin, Audrey Santander and Brandon Cruz, proceeded to announce the upcoming events we offered and played an ice breaker -- Finish the Lyrics. With the school year starting, it was an amazing turnout with many people deciding to join Key Club!
