MESSAGES FROM YOUR LTG & DNE HELLO JELLIES! If you haven’t stayed up to date with division news recently, please note that it is now dues season and time to order our limited edition t-shirts! With that in mind, please contact your President or me if you would like more information on how to pay your dues/get your very own shirt :) As this is one of the busiest seasons in our Key Club term, I hope you have been able to balance all aspects of your life without difficulty. At times, you may feel stressed and completely overwhelmed and that is 100% okay. Don’t undermine your efforts, especially during these times where we are still adapting to daily changes. Please make sure you take care of yourself along the way and remember that you are doing your absolute best <3

Lynne Do D37E LTG

HI D37E! I hope you all have been well! While we’re all still stuck at home most of the time, there are always opportunities to serve your community with our service projects. This month, we have two service projects from our October DCM! Even though school may be difficult to adapt to in these times, I hope you all have found the comfort to work in your own household. With college application season, I wish all of my senior Key Clubbers the strength to push through all of your applications! Anyway, happy reading :)

Breakfast at Interfaith

Breakfast at Interfaith is always an exciting event to participate in as the environment is very energetic and thrilling. It’s really fun to be able to not only help our community, but help our community with our friends. We have the Adults there to keep the kitchen moving while keeping us motivated the whole way through . While there we made burritos and PB and J’s in sack lunches.

ESCONDIDO Andrew Nguyen, Bulletin Editor

Our members worked to help cleanup the museum by pulling weeds, cleaning the sandbox, planting seeds, and decorating the place. I personally enjoyed helping out in the event. I get to interact with other members while helping out with the clean up. Overall, the event was successful and many members also really enjoyed helping out and contributing.

Recycling Raptors

This project is meant to help members realize how many recyclable materials they have around them and how they can turn that into a donation towards PTP (Pediatric Trauma Program). Within another couple of weeks, we hope to collect up to $100 as a club to donate to the program. Making projects flexible has been an important factor in the way we decide on projects and service events.

Teacher Appreciation

From August 28th to September 6th, we announced and held our Teacher Appreciation event. Members made either a card or video thanking teachers for their hard work and patience with the new online school model. We know it can be a difficult and stressful time for them, so we wanted to shed some light to their way. We had more than 10 members participate in the service project.

and visuals in before the due date. We appreciate you!

HOW to COPE with STRESS Simple Ways to Cope We know that this is a stressful time for everyone. We want you all to stay healthy and happy, so we have compiled a list of ways on how to cope with stress. We hope you all find some use in these methods, especially with college application season!

1. Balance Work and Personal Time If you feel that you have been overworking yourself, schedule a self-care day! This will help you relax and ease stress.

2. Exercise It has been proven that exercising can reduce stress! Take a moment to do a set of pushups.

3. Talk to a Friend or Family Member Sometimes, it’s best to express how you feel with someone. When doing this, the other person can let you know that you have their support, and they can offer you ways to ease stress.

4. Address the Problem Head-On Whether it would be asking a teacher for an extension or asking for help with something, this can ease worry.

5. Eliminate the Source If something like a draining job is causing you to feel overwhelmed, consider taking a step back from it. WE HOPE YOU GET THROUGH THESE TOUGH TIMES!

12

How Our Members Have Coped We have gathered up some of our jelly friends to give some advice on how they’ve coped with their own stress!

Erik Shimizu, Spirit Coordinator As far as handling stress, it's extremely important to keep up with sleep and one's own well-being. While this may seem unlikely when one is stressed out, practice stopping whatever you are doing to take a break, or forcing yourself to sleep at a certain time.

Zandra Coloma, Member How I manage stress varies, if its school, I take breaks from time to time varying from a 20 min nap or just a quick stretch with hype music in the background. If it’s anything else, I usually scream the top of my lungs and just tell myself I can do this and that it’ll be over soon. Calling a friend also helps a lot for me because that’s when I pour all my complaints to them and it’s fine if they’re not listening most of the time but it’s definitely off my chest and that’s how I deal with my stress.
