HEY JELLIES! I hope you’re staying warm and continuing to take care of yourself! With finals season and college application deadlines nearing each day, I hope you are doing your best to take care of yourself. Your mental health comes first before anything else, so please take a break when you can/need to. You deserve it! That being said, please get comfy and take a few minutes to look through this edition of The Sting!
Lynne Do Lieutenant Governor
HELLO D37E! With the colder weather approaching, please stay warm and stay safe! Additionally, as final exams are approaching, we hope you all manage your stress in a healthy manner. Remember that it is okay to take breaks! Your wellbeing should be your #1 priority. I hope you enjoy this month’s newsletter! As always, happy reading :) Natasha Tran Division News Editor

SERVICE PROJECT This month, we offered Silly Cards for Elementary School Students after our DCM. The instructions can be found HERE. Members made joke cards for elementary students. Thank you to all who have participated in the service project.
CLUB SPOTLIGHT Kiwanis One Day - ESCONDIDO On Saturday, October 24, Escondido Key Club--along with Orange Glen and Del Lago Key Club--was able to participate in the Kiwanis One Day at the San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum from 9am to 11:30am! Us Key Clubbers were able to work alongside Kiwanians and other K-Fam clubs in order to help beautify the SDCDM premises! Kiwanis One Day is an annual event bringing different Kiwanis Family Clubs together to focus on local community service, and that is exactly what we were able to do! Mary Ngo Escondido Tech Editor
Recycling Raptors - High Tech Even though I was apprehensive about how our club would react to this newer more flexible style of service projects with the Recycling Raptors project, we were delighted to realize that this type of project was taken super well. Members appreciated the flexibility of the project as well as the independence. We were able to raise $40 dollars for PTP, but with the lack of members at the time, it was understood and we were still grateful. Livia Iacobelli High Tech High President
SERVICE SPOTLIGHT December - Spotlight on Service This month’s service spotlight focuses on providing basic needs, as it’s the season for giving. Here are some ideas on how to give back to your community whether you’re looking for club service ideas or looking to give to those in need this holiday season.
Clothing Drives Host clothing drives with another organization or homeless shelter to keep people warm this winter! You can ask for a checklist of what they need and have your members fulfill the list. You should also consider donating clothes to a local thrift or consignment shop! Clothing drives are a great way to clean out your closet, while giving back to your community this winter.
Food Bank Get in touch with your local food bank to host a food drive to feed families in need this holiday season! Usually, they ask
for
canned
food
and
other
non-perishable items. You can even try to volunteer at soup kitchens where members can help prepare food!
REGION 1.5 What is CTC? Candidate Training Conference (CTC) is where Key Clubbers come together to learn about the role of a Lieutenant Governor and how Key Club works on the divisional and district level!
DATE/TIME Saturday, December 12th, @ 10am-3pm
LOCATION Zoom
Why Should You Attend? This training conference is a great way to learn more about what it means to be a leader. By attending, you will have the opportunity to meet other passionate Key Clubbers and talk one-on-one with LTGs about their experiences while serving the division. Additionally, you can fulfill your training conference requirement on the Member Recognition Program (MRP)!
How Can You Sign Up? In the next few weeks, stay on the lookout for updates on the division Instagram @d37ejellies! NOTE: Signing up and attending CTC does NOT mean that you are committing to running for LTG.
