LETTER FROM THE LTG Hey Red Pandas!

I hope you’re all enjoying your summers so far. Be sure to stay active and involved and use your summers to prepare yourselves for a great year ahead. For Key Club, set some goals for yourself! How many community service hours do you want to do? Do you want member of the month? How much money do you want to raise for PTP? As a division, we want to raise $4,000 for PTP, have 17,500 hours, and 500 dues paid members. How are you going to contribute to this? If every member did 40 hours of service and raised $10 for PTP, we would go above and beyond our division goals! When we combine our efforts, we do amazing things. You’re all amazing and hardworking people and I’m beyond happy with what has come from each club at this point. I can’t wait to see what you all have in store for the future. Never stop being amazing, D46N

LETTER FROM THE DNE Hello Red Pandas! School’s out, summer is starting, and life is at a complete ease: right? With the appearance of summer, it’s our job as Key Clubbers to take the extra time we’ve been given and put it back into our community through service. Luckily, you need not be afraid of a lack of opportunities, as this month is abound with them. I, the LTG, advisors, officers, and DLT hope to provide you with another productive month in June, working our hardest to solidify D46N as a force to be reckoned with. As you start your summer, remember to stay in touch with the community, your family, and friends. It’s an exciting time with a lot of chances to have fun, whether it be through a day trip to the beach, a barbeque with some of your closest friends, or working an event with other members of D46N. In all of this, remember to stay safe, and to stay smart. I know it might get stressful with the amount of work you may have this summer, in a time where there should be nothing but rest and relaxation, but I also know our division to have some of the most dedicated, industrious people I know. Regardless of your plans for this summer, I wish an amazing month onto all of those in D46N. Go Red Pandas! - John Nunnally, Division News Editor

Kiwanis Breakfast On Sunday, June 3rd, the Red Pandas had the opportunity to serve the Kiwanis community by providing service through an omelet breakfast, accompanied by pancakes, coffee, and other common breakfast foods. Our division helped put out tables, place those tables, and bring out breakfast orders to the current Kiwanis members. Getting our steps in, more than 20 members from several clubs within the division helped return the numerous favors the Kiwanis community have provided to Division 46 North. I personally attended the event, working on the floor to quickly to provide current Kiwanis and their families with meals and service. It was rewarding to see the Kiwanis talking, reuniting, and enjoying the breakfasts provided to them. Nothing is more gratifying than seeing members of the Kiwanis community enjoying service, when they have done so much to serve our community. I couldn’t be happier with the event, and I hope to see more members participate in the Kiwanis breakfast next year.

American Graffiti Modesto is famous for the movie American Graffiti, by George Lucas (yes, that George Lucas), in which a group of friends travel around the streets of Modesto in their classic cars. The Modesto community pays respect to the movie and its fame with the American Graffiti Festival in downtown Modesto, in which various members of the community bring their classic automobiles for show. Along with food vendors and a parade, the festival is one of the biggest events for the local Modesto community. The North Modesto Kiwanis Club put on the festival, with all proceeds benefiting local, non-profit organizations, as all Kiwanis would generously do. Division 46 North’s role in the festival was picking up trash, setting up tables and chairs under food vendor tents, and taking down those chairs and tables at the conclusion of each of the three days the festival was hosted. With a large part of the community coming to the festival and enjoying the rich history of the city of Modesto, I’m happy to say the event was a success, and it will continue to be an integral part of the city’s history for years to come.
