Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast Rising up early to support our Kiwanis fundraiser, Key Clubbers worked from 6:30 to 12:30 to help and serve customers. Tickets were sold for seven dollars for adults and five dollars for children. Many clubbers sold a lot of tickets prior to the event as well, which resulted in a big turnout! The event was hosted at The Seasons Catering. Breakfast was served with fluffy pancakes, chewy scrambled eggs, crunchy ham and a fresh fruit cup. Volunteers were split into different sections to efficiently serve customers. Once entrance was granted, customers got in line to be served their food. Key Club drink servers then quickly went to serve drinks, including milk, ice water, orange juice and coffee. Each table included syrup, jam, and sugar. Other Key Clubbers resupplied and refilled containers, making sure customers had necessary condiments at all times. After enjoying their meal, clean-up crews picked up trash and leftover food, and threw them away. The set up crew followed the clean-up crew, and replaced tables with Kiwanis placemats, napkins, forks and knives. Satisfied customers left generous tips for the club. The Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast was definitely a success! -Ellen Zheng: Modesto

Relay For Life This year's Relay for Life was hosted at Johansen High School! Every school from our division had a Key Clubber to support the event and run for Relay for Life. Many supported and promoted Key Club and advocated for the fight against cancer! The event started with survivors of cancer walking their first lap. After, walkers had lunch at 11:30.The event included many rounds of dress up. The dress up themes ranged from Wacky Hat lap to Super Hero Costume lap. They also had a Hula Hoop contest and balloon toss. Dinner began at 5:30 and at 8 there was a funky sock lap. After it got dark, the themes just got crazier and crazier. There was a Luminaria lap, Glow in the dark lap, and even a Crazy Bra lap. At midnight, there was Midnight Pizza accompanied with a movie. The event ended with a closing ceremony at 8:15 in the morning and the final lap was at 9 in the morning. Each group made sure to have at least one member on the track at all times! The event lasted for an entire twenty four hours, and some members even showed up the next day for our Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast! With our dedication, we are one step closer to winning the fight! -Ellen Zheng: Modesto

Officer Training Conference Key Clubbers woke up bright and early on their Saturday to participate in this year's OTC. After arriving to the chosen host high school, students from both north and south divisions were walked throughout various workshops designed for specific positions and jobs. Previous officers also trained and helped out new ones, spreading their previous knowledge and experience to help others. The day included meals and even spirit battles! Many Key Clubbers attended and gain valuable knowledge and help in their fields. It was a great opportunity to meet new Key Clubbers while having fun and supporting Key Club at the same time. It was a fun and great experience for all who attended and if you couldn't make it this year, it's definitely something to look forward to next year! -Toni Marie: Gregori High
